What are they???

I've got 4 nights in a 1 bed in October (gotta ring daily to transfer the rest of my SSR booking) and wondered why they were 'preferred'???

Thank you... :flower3:

Hi Karen
Lucky you! BWV preferred rooms 'guarantees the guest a room that directly overlooks the BoardWalk itself'. We stayed in a preferred room last September and were directly above the Boardwalk with a lovely view across Crescent Lake to BC/YC.

I don't think this is correct. To have a Boardwalk view guaranteed, it must actually say that on the confirmation.

A preferred view can be a water view, including the pools - not sure what else though. I only own points at BWV so I can have the Boardwalk View, which can be difficult to get :)

My mistake! I had a Boardwalk View which includes a view of the Boardwalk. Preferred View includes a view of either pool, water or garden areas.

Thanks Joan and Moira! :thumbsup2 Just wasn't sure, tho' TBH I'm happy to get anything at an EPCOT resort during the Food & Wine Festival!!! ;) Added Day 5 now - just 2 left to transfer... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Our preferred view room overlooked the main pool with a sideways view of TOT :goodvibes

There are 3 categories at BWV

Standard view, which tends to book out first due to the lower points requirements

Boardwalk View which has the same points as preferred but books out because of the Boardwalk view

Preferred view which is what is usually left at 7 months.

Well done on getting your room and fingers crossed for the rest of your stay :thumbsup2

Sounds great, Jakki! :goodvibes I'm really looking forward to staying here - it'll be our first time and I just love the EPCOT area... :worship:

just wishing you good luck with the rest for you days

I'm going to miss phoning each day

We had a lovely room last visit a preferred overlooking the pool :) I do love the Boardwalk View though :)

brilliant news on getting your days so far Karen, may I hijack your thread and ask what to expect with a standard view, we are thinking of trying for 4 nights, we have already borrowed quite a few points, so are of thinking that a standard view would require the least points, we are tempted by the thought of being near Epcot.

No problem Jules, hijack away! :thumbsup2 I'm having to borrow 2009 points quite heftily for the preferred view but, nothing else was available and from what I can gather, those standard view ones go pretty quickly. I think the standard view includes the view of the parking lot and entrance of the Boardwalk Resort... :goodvibes

I think you'll struggle to get a standard view at 7 months. Most BWV owners book these rooms at 11 months just because they are lower on points

thanks both, guess we will be staying put at Saratoga or borrowing more points then LOL

...I have now transferred all my SSR stay to BWV!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:

This is the first time I've attempted to do anything within the 7 month window and it was a breeze! I thought I'd find ringing everyday a total bore but it was actually fun! Plus I really didn't expect to get the whole stay transferred as it's during the F&WF and DS's half-term so I'm absolutely delighted!!! Well done, DVC... :worship: :worship: :worship:

Thanks for reporting, Karen - that bodes well for us. We need to start phoning next Wednesday. I think I've probably missed you now, but have a good time in Barbados! :goodvibes
