Chapter 29. Tuesday, February 6th. Day 6. Part 1. My morning with the peeps.
So when I last left you, I was out on the Boardwalk enjoying the view.
We were all up around 7am because we really wanted to be at Animal Kingdom at opening.......
What do you think happened? Jeopardy music please.
What is.....they left at 8:45am for AK?
Ding, Ding, Ding!!!!!!!!
Here are some pix on the way over to AK.
Nice triple chin Jordan:
We arrived at Animal Kingdom around 9:10am. Not too shabby.
Okay, here's the deal.
Remember, RoboJo's friends were to meet up with us today. Robo called them and they were still about 45 minutes away. Robo let them know to call us when they got to the park.
The adults, Derek, Josh, Robo, Kim, Wendy and I, all discussed whether to get FPs for Everest or Kilimanjaro......we went back and forth....it was a bit taxing as we had to try and factor Robo's friends in.....
As we got off the bus, we stopped our discussion long enough to take a few pix:
By the time we got in, we decided that the Keeper of the FastPasses (Me) would run ahead to get FPs for............................Everest.
Everyone else would go Stand By for KS.
By the time I got the FPs, the gang was already 1/2 way through the queue. Wendy asked if they should wait. I said no. I've been before and certainly would be going again before the trip was over..
I knew it would be awhile until they were out so I took my time walking from Asia to Africa...
On the way I had to stop use the facilities. These restrooms are located on the path from Asia to Africa right near Flights of Wonder:
I had to give this a single flush as it was not crowded and clean. However, I would imagine since this restroom is small that it would be crowded, stinky and dirty the further it got into the day. I did not re-visit this restroom the rest of the trip.
I made it over to Africa. It was hot already and it was only 9:40am.....I sat on a bench and begun my wait....
It was really busy at the park, but I didn't care because I had a seat in the shade and had nowhere to be.
So this is what everyone else experienced while I was waiting
Now my end I couldn't believe my eyes:
Peeps:
Peeps:
Peeps:
I actually had to follow these peeps; thus, losing prime shade seating:
This wasn't a peep, but I wondered to myself, "Does this man have cultural pride or is he just a bit loony?"
Everyone came off KS and I was able to get Kim to take one more picture w/ my peeps...They were everywhere that morning:
RoboJo called her friends and they were waiting at Everest so we made the trek back to Asia........
Everest, Dinoland and yes, someone gets busted.
