My dh thinks I am crazy for sending off my gold so I want to show him that info from the disboards works. I am trying to decide between Goldfellow and Usgoldbuyer. The Goldfellow envelope arrived today but I am not sure if I should use them. Any thoughts?

Bump -- I want to know too!

I want to know also. But I hope most people say goldfellow.
I just sent my fed ex to them today with my gold.
I am hoping I picked the right online site.....

I posted this on the other thread at least a week ago (so prices might be higher now) -but below you can see my comparison of both. usgoldbuyers clearly pays more.

Okay, I used usgoldbuyers and had a good experience. The goldfellow guy seems like a nice enough guy and from what I've read, people are also having a good experience using him.

I am no math expert, but I decided to compare the payouts for 14k based on what both websites are offering.

Goldfellow:
paying $14.08 per dwt if less than 1 oz; paying $15.48 per dwt if 1-5 oz.
factor in that he appears to be offering an additional 10% for dis'ers

usgoldbuyers:
pays $27.70 per dwt for 5-50 oz.; when I called, I was told that I would receive 10% less, if I had less than 5 oz.

Sample 1:
.8 oz of 14k gold = 16 dwt
Goldfellow: 16 x 14.08 = 225.28 (+ 22.50 if in fact he is giving an additional 10% to dis members) = $247.80
usgoldbuyers: 16 x 27.7 = 443.32 - 44.32 (10% less b/c under 5 oz) = $398.88
goldfellow payout $247.80 vs. usgoldbuyers payout $398.88

Sample 2:
3.0 oz of 14k gold = 60 dwt
Goldfellow: 60 x 15.48 = $928.80 (+ possible 10% more? of 92.88) = 1021.68
usgoldbuyers: 60 x 27.7 = $1662 - 166.2 (10% less b/c under 5 oz) = 1495.80
goldfellow payout $1021.68 vs. usgoldbuyers payout $ 1495.80

Hope that helps someone!

USGoldBuyers pays more!!! Contact both places and I am getting almost $200 from USG. Got my settlement yesterday, check in the mail, should have by Friday!!!!

the other thread is saying the usgolbbuyers isn't taking anymore mail ins until next week.

Goldfellow, I got my check in Monday, and they didn't call me until last Friday, so that was quick.Might could have gotten more from Goldbuyer, but had already decided on Goldfellow, also don't forget to mention the Diz board when they call you, you get another 10%.:dance3:

USGoldbuyers had an article in the wall street journal last week - that is why they are so busy now - I sent my items to them Monday - I will find out probably in a day or 2 how well I did.

I used USGoldbuyers as well and I had my payout in less than 24 hrs.

The person that I spoke to was very nice.

I have no idea about the other place.

Does anyone have a link for USgoldbuyer? I can't seen to find their link. Thanks!

If I had to do it over again I probably would have gone with USgoldbuyer only because they pay more. I sent my gold to Goldfellow on Sat and my settlement was ready yesterday (Tuesday) - it was fast, easy and a quick turnaround! I got $637! Yippee! I forgot to request the extra 10% for being a dis member though :( Oh well!

Sent my little pile of scrap to Goldfellow only because they make it easier - no calls to make, I already have fedex envelopes, just print out the label and packing slip and drop it in the box. Whatever they give me is going to be found money, I only had a couple of broken bracelets and some sterling.

That's what I was thinking. They seemed easier, I like that you can log in to view everything. Plus if I had a lot more I might have gone to usgoldbuyer.

Anyone have the contact info on Goldfellow? I would like to try this out.

Thanks!

I don't think usgoldbuyers are paying $24 something for their payout. They called the other day with my settlement and it wasn't as much as I thought it would be (using this chart) I was cooking dinner and my kids were screaming, so I didn't have time to ask what exactly they were paying, but it was more that I had in my pocket before.
