I am leaving for Florida on Wednesday. We are staying at an airport hotel the night before. I secured a great hotel for a fabulous price on priceline. :teeth: How do I request the beds for the room? I did not see anywhere on the ressie on priceline prior to bidding for the # of beds in the room. It just asked (as I recall) number of rooms and number of people. Should I call the hotel?

I also used priceline for our trip to VA in June and again got a FAB price in Old Town, VA but I need double beds for sure in all those rooms. ::yes::

For the airport hotel I bid realllllllllllllllllllllly low and WON (yeah!!!) does the hotel know what I paid through priceline? We will all probably end up down by the laundry room when they see what I paid and leave all the nice rooms for the guests who paid the going rate! :confused3

TIA!!!!!! :goodvibes:

priceline only guarantees a double occupancy. If you are more than 2 people you may not get double beds. You can try to contact the hotel directly, but be prepared for them to tell you the reesie is only guaranteed for 2 people. This is unfortunatley one of pricelines little quirks.
And yes, the hotel does know you booked thru PL.
Good luck.

ETA: if you must have doubles, you may do well to book a cancelable, back up ressie somewhere and see what you get at check-in from the PL hotel.

One of my DGF's and I are staying tomorrow night at the airport and that is double occupancy but we would each like our own bed....does priceline just assume when it is two people they want ONE bed????

That is all they will guarantee. One bed. Again, you can try, but they don't have too. Some have success, some don't.
Probably depends on hotel occupancy at the time of check-in.

Thanks, Lisa!!!

Also, will the hotel know what I paid????

They only know what the price they sold it to PL for. So if PL bought it for $25 and you won it at $35, they don't know about the other $10

So there is a good chance we will not have to spend the night in the basement annex somewhere!!!! :lmao:

yes they will.. but it doesnt always affect when they put you.

fyi for the future.. hotwire will guarantee you 2 beds if you have more than 2 people. I have been stuck with 1 bed with 2 kids with price line before.

I have never had any trouble getting a King, or 2 doubles, or whatever I wanted and I use PL a lot. If you are a member if the hotel's frequent guest club, like Marriott Rewards, or Starwood Preferred, I think that helps in securing the desired type of room.

Green Tea: How did you secure those beds? Did you call ahead or wait until check in and then show your rewards card?

Just went into my travel file and I actually have travel rewards cards for both hotels we are staying at the airport and then again in VA!!!

We have 5 people but still bid. We have bid priceline a lot and only one time did they say we'd have pay $10 or something for 2. We didn't argue it because like others said you're technically only guaranteed a King. However, it seems like the hotels have more of the 2 beds to give away or something. We always bid assuming that there's a chance 2 kids will be on the floor, but we've never had an issue. I think you could also do as others suggested and call the hotel directly and ask for that request on your reservation. They may say it's not guaranteed, etc. but it's just a request. I also thought the hotel frequent guest card is a good idea. You can print your temporary card. We've even had hotels credit our night stays even though they didn't need to. You're right that the Priceline prices just can't be beat. They're totally worth the chance for us. Sometimes you do get a bad room, but sometimes you don't.

I have done a couple different things. I have called and emailed the special reward program contacts. I have also called hotel directly, and then at check in just asked for the room I need. There are so many hotel rooms in Orlando, and so many family friendly ones. I think you will be fine.

If you call hotel, call and speak to the local unit. If you get transferred to the reservation center, you will get no requests noted, most likely.

We have 5 people in our family and have never had a problem getting 2 beds plus a rollaway on occasion. In fact, went thru priceline for a niagara falls hotel, and for a change it was just DH and I, so I requested a king bed by calling the hotel. They informed me they were not obligated, but would try since I had explained it was DH and my anniversary. When we arrived and enquired about our king bed, they had none, so the UPGRADED us to a suite - it was stunning! 2 bedrooms, marble foyer, just beautiful. We paid $70 for the 4* falls view hotel, and when I enquired about the going rate for the room they gave us, it was $350 a night! They knew we got it thru priceline, and still, stellar treatment. We have always called ahead, and said that we booked on priceline, and know that we aren't entitled to it, but would like 2 double beds since we have kids. I find that works great, and as I say, we have never had a problem.

OK everyone, thanks for all the replies!!!! :teeth:

I just called the hotel, the local # for the hotel (not the 1-800-reservation ctr #) and spoke to the Front Desk Clerk (wrote her name down) and she said "Yes, absolutely, two beds are confirmed"...........YEAH!!!!!!!
