Anyone know how much lanyards cost at Dis?

I dont remember seeing any 2 pin starter sets at WDW but I could be wrong.. I do remember the lanyards by themselves costing $5.. not sure if they are all that price or just certain ones, but DD bought several for $5 each..

Trip before last I bought a 4 pin starter set with the lanyard for $25..

You can find lanyards at Dollar stores and stores like Walmart now. Unless you want one that says Disney World on it I would recommend you get one of them.

I may have one left from all the ones I have given away, if you send me a pm with your address I will look for one and mail it to you.
I never wear them since they rub on my neck and I can't take it. They are worse in the summer when you have collarless shirts. I have a small bag that I made that I carry inside my fannypack.
If you are handy and can sew a little you can pick out some heavy ribbon and sew some velcro onto the ends and sew on a lanyard clip and have your own the color you want. All the above stuff is available at Joanns in the notions department. Very easy to do but the velcro has to be sewn on by machine, it is very hard to get a needle through it by hand.

The lanyards without any pins are $5 at WDW. The starter sets range in price depending on how many pins are on them, but the set at the Disney Store is a good deal.

This is what I have found with lanyards:

1) The ones that are more of a "ribbon" fabric are more likely to shred. I have one from Target and one from Disney Shopping that are like that.

2) The ones that are more of a "canvas" are horribly abrasive on the back of your neck. I have a white "Epcot" one that is HORRIBLE.

3) The ones that are "normal" lanyard fabric are the sturdiest and won't shred even if putting a lot of pins on and off. I guess they are nylon? Woven, like the straps on a duffle bag. Also, those lanyards come in 2 different lengths. The first one DS bought was the shorter one - he doesn't wear it anymore. Look for the longer ones for adults and older kids, stick to the shorter one for younger kids. :)

how wide are these lanyards anyway? (not the thickness but the width).

The regular ones I'd say are about the width of maybe two fingers put together..? There are larger ones, (three fingers?) that run a little more, $6.95. As far as I know, starter sets with two pins are only available at the brick and mortar store. At the resorts, the smallest I think is a set with four or six pins.

I saw the starter pin set at the Disney Store for $9.50 and included two Mickey pins. Does anyone know how much these are at Disney?

This sounds like the set I bought online when Disney Shopping had their Leap Day sale. I bought 2 of these for about $6.50 each. I figured it gives my oldest DD at least 3 pins to trade while at WDW. Just buying one pin at WDW will cost at least $7-8 so this is a great deal...even at the $9.50!
