Okay, before writing this sucker I need to calm myself down. This is one big task! Is anyone else overcome with the thought of writing everything you did on vacation in great detail? I just hope I have the will to finish this. :)

Anyways, here's a little backstory.

We went in September, actually from September 21st to October 6th. Why may you ask did I wait so long to write a report? It's called 'The Disney Blue's'. Yep, after we got back I headed into a WDW depression and even refused to get on the DIS. After a while I slowly rejoined in all the fun political, religious and way too personal discussions. But I was still weary of visiting the trip planning boards, it might cause a downward spiral.

Until one day I was discussing Disney with my parents, and all of a sudden we decided that we should go again! AND buy Annual Passes! All of a sudden I cured and wanted to do all the planning I could. But first things first, I wanted to start a report. A dining review seemed easiest so that's what I started with. Now, I'm having a really good time writing about all our meals I built up the confidence to do one of these. Yes, a Trip Report.

Day 1 - The Day I Walk Over the Hose (Post 2)
Day 2 - The Day I Buy Mickey Crocs (Post 22,23)
Day 3 - The Day We Visit Our Laughin' Place (Post 45,46,60)

Okay, to the good stuff. Let's meet the characters.

Me (Jenny!) - On my dining review there were a few confusions, so let's clear everything up here. I am 15, 16 in two weeks. Soon to be high school graduate (I'm homeschooled and recently finished my last class.) and wonderous teenager. Don't run off yet, we're not all horrible. ;) Anyhoo, I'm definitely a disney lover since 18 months old, but more on that later.

Mom - Grew up in California, smack dab next to Disneyland. Her family visited many many times, of course, what self-respecting person wouldn't? From the stories I've heard, she basically lived at DLR during her childhood. Fun times were made. Stubborn, intelligent and fun loving are just some personality quirks of hers.

Dad - As a former sailor in the navy, he actually was stationed in Florida when Magic Kingdom was just a toddler aka 'not very old'. Oh you'll get used to my humor soon enough. Anyways, he's not very opinionated so he didn't have a say in any of the plans. He does really love being at WDW though!

Hmm, let's see. What's next? Okay, I shall tell you about some past trips to Disney parks. It shouldn't be hard since we've only been 3 times as a family. Well...4.

1993 - I can't remember this trip, but I believe my parents when they tell me I was there. I think I've seen photo proof of it as well. It was at Disneyland, and apparently I just had a blast.

2000 - I was 8 at the time, and so excited to be going to Disney in the millenium! Those of you who were living at the time, remember how big of a deal the year 2000 was. I actually didn't believe my mom when she said we were going, but when I did accept it I was unbelievably excited. We stayed at AsSp for 7 days and had so much fun. It was exciting to discover the Disney magic for the first time.

2001 - Well after that trip we just had to go back! It's called 'Disney addiction', people. This was just a mommy and me trip, my dad had to work. We stayed at AsMu for 10 days and the trip is something I'll cherish forever. I really can't wait until the next time my mom and I take our own little trip together again.

2007 (The trip I'll be discussing here.) - Big gap, eh? Well that's called, Life. These years were big growing years for my family. We bought a house, new cars, and all that good stuff. But our addiction wasn't gone. Oh no, we still surfed the DIS a lot, and priced trips often. Finally we decided on one in June but changed it after free dining came out. You just can't beat free food! (Read my dining report for more on that.) So 9/21-10/06 it was. 15 nights.

Oh how fun planning this trip was. Me and my mom got to plan and learn all the new things that had happened to Disney in that 6 year gap. About 2 months out I became seriously obsessed and just couldn't get it off my mind. I spent hours on the Theme Parks boards everyday just wanting to get everything 'right'. No mistakes wanted, please! To make the time fly by I joined a DIS meet. The GLOW! Party which consisted of a great group of people. I also decided to create my own meet for the 9/30 MNSSHP we had planned. Over the next few weeks DISers slowly trickled in and joined and we had a great time talking. I planned the meet with some help from macraven. I also counted down the days by placing huge black X's all over our calendar!

A couple weeks before, we found out that my Grandma might have to have surgery, but thankfully that all cleared up (well, she actually had to have surgery after we got home anyways.) and the days were flying by. Before I knew it...

The Day I Walk Over the Hose
Flight - 5 PM to 12 AM.

Finally! I thought the day would never come. My mom had to work that morning so me and my dad just finished cleaning up the house and packing the last few things. I DIS'ed a little and even took a nap. My grandma and uncle were going to house-sit for the next two weeks, so when they arrived I knew it was close!

We were getting kind of antsy because my mom was running a little late. Yeah I know, it was 1:30 and our flight didn't leave til 5. But I get anxious very easily! No worries though, she arrived right on time. We packed all our suitcases into the car and off we were. I'm not quite sure why we left so early since the airport is literally only a few blocks away, but we did. We checked in and had all our luggage weighed and put away, then we went outside to sit and say goodbye to my grandma and uncle who had came to see us off.

Yep, that's my momma. 42 years old and stickin' her tongue out. :p I don't even remember why she was doing it, but who cares!? We were going to Disney!!!

After just talking outside for a while we went back inside to get through security and all that fun stuff. Nobody had any problems, even my dad who was carrying the cameras. It's probably because our airport is incredibly small since we live in the middle of nowhere.

My mom was getting nervous this was her first flight. She had fretted for months about flying, even though she was very interested in the actual act of planes flying. :confused3 Needless to say, she was terrified.

It didn't take long and we saw the plane arriving and they started calling everyone up to board. My mom was literally shaking by this point, and I just tried to calm her down. The plane was absolutely tiny! It had two seats on one side, and just one on the other. My mom insisted I sit next to her so I could hold her hand.

They went through all that hub about seatbelts and exit doors, and next thing we know we're off to the runway!

I closed the window to calm my mom, but honestly I really wanted to see us take off! Just as soon as we started going up my mom relaxed and told me I better open up that window! Of course, we all knew she'd be fine, she just refused to believe us! Anyways, the flight was very uneventful and we were at Dallas in no time.

I felt like I really was on vacation when we arrived at Dallas, although I'm not sure why. We had no problem finding our way around the airport on their tram (sadly, it didn't remind me of the monorail at all. :() We were at our gate in no time and still had an hour to kill before our flight. My mom decided she wanted to go outside and smoke (yea, my parents smoke. But they were very corteous in always finding the designated spots.) So we had to go out through security to get to the outside.

Lovely little picture of my mom outside Dallas. Shes putting a thumbs up to her flight experience so far.

Okay, so when we were trying to come back through security we were met with a problem. My dad's ID had broken in half right before we left on vacation. Now our small little airport thought nothing of it but Dallas sure did! Me and my mom went through security but of course my Dad was held up. We're not sure where they took him, but it took a while. We were getting pretty antsy because our flight was coming soon and we still had to find something to eat. Eventually he did come out, and never spoke of the experience. I didn't see any bruises or blood, so I'm guessing his experience wasn't too bad.

We stopped at a little sandwich cafe and got some sandwiches and drinks to eat on the plane. They boarded the flight in no time and it was all very uneventful and boring. I won't waste the details on my wonderful readers' ears. :)

It was very late when we arrived and the airport was literally empty except for our flight. We were going to pick up our own luggage even though we were using ME. We found the luggage area find and thankfully everything was still there! I looked around for the ME person who gave me directions.

After some debating and arguing about which directions we should be taking, we finally arrived at the ME counter. Again, it was totally empty. They lead us through this huge windy queue and finally we reached our bus.

The driver loaded everyone's bags onto the bus and we were off!

My mom talked on the phone while I just rested and watched the little movie. There was this mother with a small toddler and she was saying the cutest things to get him pumped of for being at WDW. It was so sweet to hear all that. I also just looked out the window looking for signs with Mickey on them.

Finally we arrived at POP Century and the driver helped us with our luggage. We tipped him then walked inside to check in. I snapped some pictures while I was waiting in line.

Once we got to the front of the line, everything seemed fine. They didn't have many rooms open so they tried to put us way back in the 90's on the third floor. After a little polite discussion, he said that he could get us in a 50's building in the morning. :goodvibes We had also ordered something from gardengrocer (water, laundry soap, snacks.) and they had a luggage guy follow us out there with everything.

I remember in great detail what it felt like that night. We walked out front towards the parking lot side. The sidewalk was wet and our luggage clonked on the hose that was coiled out front. (Just had to add the details I remember. I'm proud of remembering things!) After winding around and getting lost a bit, we finally found our room. It was behind the big laptop.

We unloaded the groceries, tipped the guys and just sat on the bed taking it all in. We grabbed a drink and went outside to sit next to the pool. It was then that I realized I wasn't getting the feel of Disney. I don't know what it was, but I was actually getting kind of sad.

My mom was slowly falling asleep on the bench so everyone went back inside and got ready for bed. My mom pretty much passed out from exhaustion on the bed, and I just sat and watched Stacy and her top 7 Must-Sees.

I fell asleep pretty late, and dreamed about having fun day tomorrow...

Coming up next...A day at DTD and a teaser of Magic Kingdom. Will I finally feel some Disney magic? Or will I be dissapointed in the whole experience? We'll just have to wait and seeee.

I've been enjoying your food reviews, so I'm in for the trip report too.

Curious have you always been homeschooled? My boys are on their second year of homeschooling, they are 4th & 5th graders. My daughter was homeschooled last year, but she wanted to go to public school for middle school this year, she's in 6th grade.

I had got the "Disney Blues" too. My wife's side of the family started talking about doing a Disney Cruise and cured me of the Disney Blues! In short, I know what you are talking about. :thumbsup2 Great report so far! Keep it going!

Great start Jenny! And the detail that you put into remembering everything is great!

Thank you. :) And no, I've only been homeschooled since last March. I did really like it though.
Great start! You have great detail in your report. Can't wait to read more!:goodvibes
Thanks. I always love reading lots of detail in the trip report, it makes me feel like I'm there. So I'm trying to right as much as I can. Sadly, some of my days are a lot less clearer, but I'll try to manage. :goodvibes
