Best theme park views?

Which resort has the best theme park views from their rooms? Grand Floridian? Polynesian?

I'm totally confused :confused3

The CR. It is the closest and there are NO obstructions whatsoever. But the GF and the Poly also have good ones.

The Poly beach is the better for Wishes, but only the CR has any direct view into the park (much closer, but not exactly birds-eye).

I guess it depends on which theme park you are talking about. If you stay at the Dolphin, you could see some of two or even three theme parks at a time. I have seen some views from the higher up rooms in the tower that have views of Epcot, Disney Studios and the Tree of Life and Expedition Everest all in one.

If I had to choose between the Grand Floridian and Polynesian for the best views of the Magic Kingdom, I would rather say that honor goes to the Contemporary. Here is my families Magic Kingdom view from August 2006 when we were in room #4840 on the 12th floor, so how can you not beat this view?

I'd say the GF for less obstruction mainly because of how the MK view rooms are placed. At the GF you don't have to worry about Beachcomber Island obstructing part of your view. Also keep in mind that while you have less obstruction, you're not as 'on center' as you would if you were staying at the Polynesian.

But for *no* obstruction, the CR wins hands-down.

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! Your info is VERY helpful. In a moment of confusion, I was considering changing our split stat at the CR (MK view room) and Poly (MK view room) for a MK view room at the GF. The photo of the view from the CR sealed the deal for me! Thanks CR Resort Fan 4 Life!

While I'd love to try the GF, my 4 year old nephew really loved the Poly last month and will just love the CR! I'm thinking the GF may be great for an adults-only trip. And if I switched to the GF for a MK view room, I'd lose my 30% off bounceback! The only rooms they have available with the discount are garden view rooms. No thanks!

What building would you recommend at the Poly for the best MK view?

I requested Tahiti for my room-- seems like a good view from there. But the concierge building, Hawaii, also looks like a great view too-- check out some of Seaspray's pics on the Poly thread to see!

DH and I stayed at the GF 4 years ago and had a MK view. All I really saw from that view was the Castle. But, last week we stayed at The Contemporary Tower Mk view. IMHO, its the best resort (you can walk to the MK!!) with the best view hands down! I actually like the CR over the GF.
At the CR, we had a perfect view of the Magic Kingdom and saw Wishes right from our balcony! It was a perfect view and the CR is the best! If you choose the Contemporary, you will not be disappointed!

Thanks! I'm beginning to wonder if the GF is more hype than anything else. :confused3

Hey Native Nyer, I had a MK view at the Poly and I felt it was obstructed...I had a room booked at The GF and I read a lot of posts that said they had obstructed views..I changed my reservation and we are staying at the CR also in a MK view..I am very happy with my choice! Have a great trip..another Native NYer, Nancy ;)

I agree.
IMHO, I felt that the GF was beautiful but I'd rather stay at the CR. The MK Tower View was much better & I just liked the feel of the CR than the GF. Now, I had my wedding reception at the GF 9 years ago and loved every minute of it but for my vacation, I am always going to choose the CR from now on!

Seems like everyone thinks the CR is the best. I'm so happy to hear that. I'm really excited about staying at CR for the first time this summer. It's almost the epitome of Disney. In addition to the great view of the MK, the monorail, and Chef Mickey's, there's the walkway to the MK!!! No folding and unfolding of the stroller!!! YAY

I've seen photos of the renovated rooms and, from what I remember, they're just beautiful. Does anyone have a photo from their stay?

Thanks :thumbsup2

Our room in the CR was gorgeous! It was very spacious and roomy for 3 adult women with alot of stuff! The bathroom was big and had a seperate toilet area. Big plus!! it made geting ready in the morning easier. The beds were comfy and the daybed was very comfy to sleep on (that's where I slept) We had a computer & desk in the room and although I did not use the Internet, I did email Housekeeping every morning with our daily requests. The TV is built into the wall and is a nice flat panel. We had a coffee maker in the room so we had our coffee in the room in the morning. We also had a refrigerator which was great! Also, we had a hair dryer and iron/ironing board, too!

After seeing the pictures of the rooms at the CR, I may not want to move to the Poly for our split stay :lmao:
