Seaspray great Job on the new Poly thread :thumbsup2 . Love all the pics too :goodvibes . Your really making me miss the Poly :sad1:, looks like we will taking a year off and going on the cruise this fall instead of Poly.

Thanks! It was between the GF & the Poly-- so my choices were both good ones! But I decided that since it my first trip and DD's first trip-- we needed an old fashioned Disney experience!

I put in requests for Tahiti upper level too. :)

Hi,

I need to call down to WDW/Poly to ask and verify a few things on my ressie. Have a few questions to ask first.

Should I call then general 407-WDISNEY # or directly to the Poly itself?

Which style room has the common door inside the room to the next? adjoining or connecting? I think I said connecting with my org. ressie. So I need to confirm or change that.

the second thing is (as I've read about them here) want to see if I have any codes attached to my name.

third, I want to request possible early checkin upon our arrival around noon. My DS is on the autisic spectrum and this could really help w/ our transistion from travel to Disney.

So anyways, which number should I call? :confused3

Thanks!

The Poly does not know you exist until about 3 days before you arrive. You need to call CRO.

Connecting means that there is a connecting door so you're set. Adjoining just means next to each other.

You can certainly checkin as soon as you arrive. I would ask DRC (Disney Reservation Center...the 407 #)) to note your arrival time and why you would like access to the room early. We've found the Polynesian makes every effort to get guests into the rooms as soon as possible but of course there are no guarantees. When you do get there, if the CM says your room is not available, just ask if anything is available right away.

Of course, the fewer requests you have the more likely you are to get a room ready.

I love this thread. My dh and I are going to WDW in Nov 09 for our 10th. I wasn't sure what resort to stay at now I know it will definately be the Poly.
:yay:

Hello All! Just subscribing here.. wonderfully informitive thread.. I am hoping to be able to stay at the poly for our dd5 and ds3 1st disney trip.. the info is wonderful!!

Take Care,
Cathleen

Great thread! We're planning our first stay at the Poly in June. :goodvibes I thought I had found the answers to every question, but I never thought to ask one: Are there ceiling fans in all the rooms? I think I've seen a picture of one in a concierge room, but are they in standards as well?

mousecrapper, I know Disney has a special services line that assists you with any special needs you may have for medical reasons. I do not know the number but you could ask CRO what it is. They are usually able to make a lot of gaurantees that would other wise be just requests if you didn't have a medical reason. I don't know if they do that for getting into a room earlier or not but they do gaurantee rooms in certain locations and buildings for medical reasons so I would give it a try.

carymomof3, there are ceiling fans in all of the rooms.

I made my decision to stay at the Poly in April!:cool1: We stayed at the Poly in 1979 when I was 11 and I still remember how special it was. I wanted my kids to experience that magic.:wizard: Did I read somewhere that concierge guests receive valet parking? Do we check-in some place different than standard check-in?

Club Level guests at the Polynesian get the same valet parking that a guest staying in a regular Magic Kingdom view, Lagoon view or Garden view get.

If your staying in a Garden view or Lagoon view Club Level room you can check-in at the Hawaii Longhouse, so just tell the bell desk about that and they will take you, your family and your luggage on a golf cart there. If your staying in any of the suites they offer the same process can happen, the only difference is you would be taken to the Tonga building since that is where those types of rooms are located.

SeaSpray,
I thought I read somewhere on this thread that Ohana's has a Character meal with Mickey and Friends. Went to try and quote it, but couldn't seem to find it quickly. Anyway, when I looked at again on the website, it said it was a Lilo and Stitch breakfast. Just wondering which was right? We are booked to stay at the Poly with our 4 year old quadruplets next December and if I could get them in to see Mickey right there at the resort, that would be great! Thanks so much for the terrific thread.

I'm not SeaSpray but I can help out a little. The character meal used to be Mickey and Friends so that is where you got that. They made some changes a few years ago and now it is Lilo and Stitch. It is a fun meal though. If you want Mickey and the Gang the closest place will be the CR at Chef Mickey's. It is just a short monorail ride away.

Just wanted to add that for the 'Ohana breakfast, in addition to Lilo and Stitch you have Mickey in his Hawaiian shirt and Pluto with a Lei around his neck. :-)

Getting ready to book Poly for a few days in August, going to probably need 2 rooms (4 adults & 1 child) any ideas what would be the most cost effective way to go (2 BR suite or 2 rooms?) Also - question- Are all of Poly's rooms 1st or 2nd level? I don't recall them having an towers, buildings all seem low. Also since I am trying to keep the cost down I am going to request the "garden view" rooms, if I also request to be close to a pool is there any chance I might get some kind of view too? Any room suggestions on what I should request to do the best? Never stayed in Poly, have stayed in GF, but want to go somewhere dif. this time. Do they have any special activities that a 2 1/2 year old could do?
