DDA Chapter 3

Jackie officially turns 13 today...where oh where as the time gone??!

Happy Birthday to Jackie!!!!

I'd love to hear more opinions on Owners Locker when you get back Lindsay! I came so close to qualifying for the beta group (and getting it free for a year), but we were traveling a week too late. It just seems so expensive to me, but I have heard nothing but good reviews!

I will let you know. I initially thought it would not be a good deal for us, either, but then started to think more "outside the box" as to what we could have there with us. I think the idea that most sold me would be to have my own bed linens. I find I don't sleep the best at WDW, because 1) I'm grossed out at the thought of how many people have touched/slept under/done gosh knows what else :scared: on the comforters, and 2) WDW insists on not putting fitted sheets on the bottom, and thus they get ripped out, particularly with Jonathan thrashing about in a bed all night! To have my own sheets and a blanket of some sort would be pure heaven to me! Plus, I plan on leaving a full set of toiletries down there, so ideally, all I would need to pack is my clothes, and not all that other stuff.

So, we might have snuck in a bonus ultrasound today.... :rolleyes1

I have a blog post talking about the results if you want details (site in my sig), but I'd rather not post them here right now. All is well, though.

I'm off to find some lunch! Have a good afternoon!

Now that's just mean! ;) I want to know what you're having!

Seriously, I'm glad to hear all is well!

:wizard: and  to all. I am in a cold medicine fog. I can't stand this feeling but can't breath without it.

Bernadette - lots of :wizard: :wizard: for you to get better soon! I was wondering about you yesterday!

Bernadette - No, no, no! Last year was only 9 night, not 16. I have to have 2 outfits for every day, which means 7 more than last year. Plus those couple of extra I can't bear to leave behind. :rolleyes1 The thing is, I don't think I have 32 pairs of shorts so I will have to do at least one load of shorts while we are there.
I hope that cold gives you a break soon! :wizard:

Jennifer - I am glad to hear that things look good! I hope you feel better about your Peri than you do about your OB!

I had a delightful lunch with Marci & Lindsay! We need to get in the habit of meeting more often!
We got a Mickey Monitor in the mail today! I'm off to see what it says! :)

We tried to talk Elizabeth out of all that luggage, but to no avail! ;)

Yes, we had a delightful time - camped out at the restaurant for 3 1/2 hours! It is definitely a good time whenever any of us get together! Thanks, ladies! :flower3:

You shouldn't. They told me anything bigger than 12 goes through Group.

Could be a casualty of the normal misinformation propogated by CM's, but I was able to make all of our dining reservations in December through the Group Dining folks, and we had a party of 10.

the walk was good. they raised $181,000+. they were still counting the money. they also had a walk in the woodlands so that one gets added also.

Great news, Karen!

Hi guys,

I'm going to ask for lots of prayers and PD, and anything else you can throw this way.

I think I told you about my SIL, he has a deformity in his kidney that has caused a blockage, and consequently caused damage. He had a stint put in right after Thanksgiving, and had a renal scan done after six weeks. After viewing the results his doctor told him that he could repair the kidney and the surgery was set up for February 19th.

Through some very poor decisions on their part, my SIL has no insurance, and after paying what they can they are now totally broke. SIL's mother got it into her head that this surgery was too dangerous and they had to find someone who could do it laproscopically, well she found a doctor at Tulane University that could do it. After seeing him he told them that he would do what he could on the finance end, and the surgery was scheduled for the
13th. Well Tulane called yesterday and told them that they would have to have the fee $27,000.00 the day he entered the hospital, they don't have it, and have no idea how they could possibly get it. The mom, who insisted that he do this, made the comment, I knew that was going to happen, DON'T MAKE ME GO THERE!!!!!!!

So now my DD is a wreck, my SIL is having a lot of pain and doesn't have any idea what he is going to do. I told her that they needed to contact his original doctor and explain the circumstances, I just can't see him letting him continue to suffer. We can help them some, but not to the tune of $27,000.00.

Please add them to your prayer lists,

Debbie

I'm so sorry, Debbie.  I don't know what to say, except that I will be praying for and sending lots of :wizard: :wizard: your SIL's way. Is there any sort of county health systems in MS that will provide care to the uninsured?

Lunch is a real bargain. Would you like to do that instead of CP? It would be a lot quieter. Just a thought.

I think we will stick with CP for that day if thats cool with you. This one is a must do for my guys. I don't think we will be taking a break (we don't normally) so we won't have to leave the MK & come back in. I am lazy, if I am in a park, I stay there.

I have thought about owner's locker a lot. I think it's a great idea.

Did you talk to your Mom about doing a breakfast in May? I should be germ free by then.:rotfl:

OK!:thumbsup2

I just counted my shorts. It was bothering me. I actually have more than 32 pairs so I wouldn't HAVE to do laundry if I didn't want to. But I like some of my shorts better than others and I definitely don't have 32 pairs that I really, really like. Hmm. Laundry or shopping? Tough call.

Chuck feels the same way. I'm a little more sold on it and would like to try it out. Of course, he doesn't have to pack all the "extra" stuff that we take. The over-the-door shoe holder that he loves to have with us, rain ponchos, glow sticks, all the extra meds, sewing kit, first aid kit, etc. That is my responsibility to pack and put away in the Disney box when we get home. I told him some of the other things that people pack and he doesn't understand why we need those things. I'd love to have beach towels with us. I'm a little worried about the cost as well but the convenience might be worth it. I'll try again in a year or two after we have used the DVC resorts more.

Chuck's reading over my shoulder and saying did you tell them "I'd have to buy a robe, and slippers, and pajamas and I don't have any of those things". :lmao: I was telling him some of the things that others pack that would be nice to have down there. He said so you're telling me you want to spend more than $99 per year (we go more than once a year so would need the extra delivery) so I can go out and buy a bunch of extra stuff? I guess he doesn't get the convenience yet. I'll work on him more in the future.

Chuck! Come to the dark side! Bring ALLLLL of your luggage! Join me in the bliss of overpacking!

Vicki, did you tell him the owner's locker thing is going to be cheaper than the Suburban I am going to have to buy to take my luggage to the airport?;)

Bernadette,
Sorry, My brain is toast.. lunch at CP is on Wed 8/20, right?

:lmao:

I already mail a bunch of stuff that I would keep in my "Disney" box-misting fans, beach balls, pop up hamper, laundry detergent, ..... I don't do DVC so I don't want to be tied down to having to laundry at the end of my trip for stuff like PJ's, towels, sheets....but if I had DVC I would have probably already have done it.

Good afternoon! Well, an ear infection it is. After 20 minutes on hold, I got through and was told to bring her in as soon as we could get there. The office was CRAZY and we waited for however long Aladdin takes to go from the part where he finds the Genie until 3 minutes after it was over, then it was another 15-20 in the exam room. After 5 min with the doctor we left with a diagnosis of left ear infection and a scrip for some antibotic. Well, went to pick that up an hour ago and lo and behold it was $70 for the generic. Umm, I don't have that! He was going to give her amoxicillan (aka free or $4), but we asked if there was something else due to a flavor issue. He said sure, but I had no idea it was going to increase the price that much. Now, I'm just waiting for him to phone in the amoxicillian so that we can get it started. Yikes it has been a day!

Debbie - I will definitely keep you SIL and DD in my prayers. What a hard situation. I hope that they can find someone to help them work through things ASAP and get him the help that he needs. :wizard:

32 pairs of shorts?! :scared1: I think I have 4, maybe 6.

Alright, I've got to run. The dr is calling in the new scrip, but the pharmacy closes at 6 so I've got to get there. Catch you soon.
