So what are your favorite places to eat on your way to the Fort?

Got this idea from another thread I was reading, and I was wondering where some of you eat when you're driving up/down/over to the Fort (obviously if you're not flying ;) )?

We stop at only the finest gourmet gas stations for our exquisite dining experiences!!

We travel down I 77 and usually spend the first night around Statesville NC. There is a seafood restaurant called the Galley close to the interstate with a parking lot BIG enough for us to get into. Mmmmm I just love getting something deep fried---shrimp, claim strips, pollock or whatever the days special is accompanied by hushpuppies and a bottomless glass of SWEET TEA. Coming from the north its one of the things I look forward to while traveling south. Just wish restaurants at Disney offered it.:confused3

I usually pull into a fast food drive through in between B'ham and Atlanta my first evening driving.

The next morning, it's yogurt and a bagel out of the fridge in the camper.

Then I arrive at the Fort about 2pm, eat another quick snack out of the camper while setting up, then I call Dining and see what's available anywhere on property.

Cafe Risque all the way baby.....:rotfl::rotfl2::eek:

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!LOLOLOL

I met my wife there.....:rotfl2: :cool1: :lmao:

I met your wife there too :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

I thought she looked familiar when I saw her driving around the fort on that blue cart but I just couldn't place where it was from.

Honestly though and before I go on, Mr Colson39 you're treading on Shannone's territory by asking these type's of questions. Have you 2 been collaborating together? DD and I usually stop at Sonny's in Palm Coast or Orange City depending on what time of day we get on the road. Both have good ribs.

I  Waffle House (or Waffe Hose, Affle (awful) House, Ffe Hos ... you know how there's always a burned out letter, my kids do an "I spy" kind of thing to see how many variations there are going up and down the highways, but I digress) - there are none around here, so the only time we get there is when headed to FL! Tradition ;)

Also, fans of Cracker Barrel - gotta love those $4 kids meals (incl. drinks) for 'kids of all ages'. Even got the DH eating off of it on occasion. Pretty impressive when a family of 4 can eat at a sit-down for cheaper than McD's! Gotta save all those $$ to give to Mickey, ya know?!

I'm innocent! I actually was reading a thread about the Cracker Barrel when I started wondering where everyone stopped on their journeys :)

Geez, fast food for us since its only a 7.5 trip now! We stop at What-a-burger somewhere in Florida off of 75. We had these in Dallas, but NONE here in the Atlanta area! So, a quick stop and we're back on the road!:)

Oh, and we really like Cracker Barrel too when traveling...but NOT on the way to Disney! All we want to do is hurry up and get there to maximize our time at Disney!

Us3, I just saw you live in cumming, I used to live in Athens, I would go to a place in cumming a couple times a year (Thomas Racing Engines) and would take my boat to a couple of differnent lakes up that way. Theme to small world starts playing now.....

We don't have a favorite per-say but we are in a habit of stopping at a certain McDonalds along the way, nice and clean and easy to get in and out of...we are always so excited to just get to WDW most of the time we just grab and go pirate: .

Its a small small world....haha

We live right here at Lake Lanier. It's still WAY low from the drought we've had. So from warm to COLD weather huh? Bbbrrrrrr!

you can keep crapper barrel. I'll take casa de waffle any day.

Us3 No went from cold to disgustingly hot back to the cold.... I am originally from the fridgid north, I couldn't take the Ga heat, so after 8 long years..... back home I went.

There's a place in Beckley, WV called Tamarack that my wife likes because it has a lot of craft junk in it. It's where US-15 and I-77 merge. Food is just OK. Cracker Barrel is always a good choice too.
