My mom has made the list but we have yet to follow it. We get in there and just start running. Does it really work well? It it worth it to follow the itinerary? Thanks!

Whether or not you choose to run or move quickly or be commando, that is not what RM is about. It is about going on rides in an optimal order so as to allow you to get on more of them.

Works great.

Depends on the person and the day and the experience level with DLR. Some people like to know they will get on certain rides and that makes them feel less stressed. RM helps make that happen. Other people feel like they want to be totally spontaneous. RM does not cater to them. We personally are in between. We like a bit of a planning and a bit of spontaneity. So when we use RM we use it is as a guide. Sometimes we follow it, sometimes we follow it partly, and sometimes we decide not to follow it at all.

I think the important thing to remember is that just because you have a piece of paper with a RM itinerary as you enter DLR does not mean anyone is forcing you to follow it. It is a tool. Use it when it helps and ignore it when it doesn't.

I love RideMax. Using this tool, the waits were significantly less than usualy because of going at optimal times. The downside is it can control your experience. As the other poster said, use it as a tool. Don't let it dictate your day - feel free to make adjustments.

One experience was really cool. We followed RideMax and ended up a couple hours ahead of schedule because they lines were even shorter than RideMax expected. This gave us time to slow down and enjoy the "little things" in the park rather than racing from place to place.

That's enough to make me want to try it this weekend... I can always get my money back if I don't think it helped, right?

Do you suggest using it when I bring a first timer to DLR?

I think they have a moneyback guarantee, but I'm not positive.

There's pros and cons when using it with a first-timer.

Pro: Line times will be less, which might give the first timer a better impression of the park.

Con: Moving from place to place might make a first-timer feel like they're either walking more than necessary or are missing things because they can't go at their own pace.

My suggestion, use RideMax and get a few different possible schedules. Once your at the park, feel free to make adjustments.

I used to do DL in a counter-clockwise method. I'd go down mainstreet then hit Tomorrowland then go to the matterhorn, smallworld, toontown, and so on. With RideMax you might go from Space Mountain to Indy Jones to Buzz Lightyear to Tiki Room to Matterhorn.

If you're going in a group, designate one person as your "runner." This person holds the group's tickets and races to collect fast passes according to the RideMax schedule while the rest of the group moves at a comfortable pace to the next stop on the schedule. Just make sure you know where the runner meets back up with the group and that both have cell phones just in case.

I'm always the runner for my group and I love it. This time, I think I'm going to back off, however. My wife said she doesn't want to do DL "bootcamp style" again. Does that mean I won't use RideMax? No way! They have an option for groups that want to take it slower. What we'll probably do since we'll be there multiple days is do both my bootcamp style and her laid back style.

I love my wife.

I can't say enough about RideMax. I used it for the first time in March 2006 and road the big rides multiple times:

Space Mountain: Closed. :sad2:
Big Thunder: 3x
Matterhorn: 2x
Splash Mountain: 5x
Indy Jones: 2x

These are estimates, but I remember thinking there was no way we could have done as much if we hadn't had RideMax.

Have a great trip!!!

I used it the weekend before Superbowl, only Saturday, for both parks. We were able to ride Space, BTMRR, IJ, Screamin, TOT, Soarin' twice each and all the other rides we wanted once. We even did PP, Toad, SW and Pin in Fantasyland. We got there at 9, which was when our plan started, went to CA at 10:30 until about 2, then returned and were done by 6. My girls even went on GRR 4 times, which wasn't even in our plan. It definitely helped that people stayed away because of the threat of rain, which didn't actually come until 5pm.

I have a ridemax ? as well.....Would you recommend it for a first timer with only 2 days in the parks? We will have Sunday March 2 & MOnday March 3rd. & I would like to get to ride/see almost everything at least once.

I'm used to WDW and using the UG or TGM....is Ridemax comparable?

IMO it is especially useful for first timers. When I went on a first trip to WDW I used it and it was invaluable in helping me understand the trends at the parks there.

IMO RM is not really comparable to the UG or TGM. Both the UG and TGM have touring advice and touring plans, but touring plans are only 10% of what they offer. RM is focused on rides, rides, rides. Plus it is much more dynamic as users can enter the rides they want to do, including adding certain rides more than once.

Thanks hydroguy...Your analysis on the other thread of ridemax we really helpful....

I think it's worth a try.
