Plan of action for a day in disneyland - Help!

Okay.

I am hopefully going towards the end of april - i haven't been since 1998.

what rides/lands to i do first?

i want to try and spend a full day at Disneyland. Then on the second day, maybe do any rides that i couldn't do on my first day then head over to DCA.

What do you guys recommend i do first, etc?

Depends on the day. On a MM day, definitely hit up Fantasyland first. On a non-MM day, grab a FP for Space or Indy and then tour that land (Tomorrowland, Adventureland) respectively.

Rides to hit early:
-Space (FP)
-Dumbo
-Peter pan
-Matterhorn
-Alice
-Indy (FP)
-Splash (FP)

I like to start on either side (Tomorrowland or Adventureland) and work my way around clockwise or counterclockwise.

But towards the end of April, you're going to be hitting crowds (especially the ladies only trip from here, LOL).

Do you know about Fast Pass and how to use it? Starting and finishing one land then the next is all well and good, but limits the use of FP, which will limit the ease of doing as much as possible in one day in late April.

I think that you should go to Fantasyland first on even a regular day, because those lines build quickly. That is, if you want to do the Fantasyland rides (I didn't on my solo trip).

Depends. For Fantasyland, I say definitely. For the other lands, probably not because all other lands have rides with FP (except New Orleans Square which has 2 ride lines that move extremely fast) so you can definitely save some of those rides for the afternoon/evening with FP. Here would be my (loose) plan of action.

- Get there 30+ min early
-Hit Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, and Matterhorn
-Grab a Space FP
-Tour Tomorrowland (Buzz, Star Tours)
-Head across to the other side of the park
-Tour that side of the park picking up Indy AND Splash FPs. Save Pirates, Splash FP and Haunted Mansion for a crowded time. Eat lunch over there too.
-Take the train to Toontown
-Take a ride on Roger Rabbit
-Check out the Nemo line
-Use your Space and Indy FPs
-Hit anything else you want. Fantasmic? Fireworks? Shop on Main Street?
