I am planning a Neverland themed party for my soon to be 3yo dd. She LOVES Peter Pan. I have gathered some ideas from the web but I wanted pick the brains of some of the most creative folks I know-You DISers!!! This is what i have so far (I'm looking for any further ideas or tips on any or all of it!)

I've printed Neverland maps on cardstock with invite info on it

The invites are going into bottles to be hand delivered

It will be a dress up party (i've bought a few cheap dress up things for those not in costume)

Having it from 10-12 so I will be serving appetizers (suggestions about what to serve would be great!)

I thought about doing themed rooms-one room the Mermaid Lagoon (streaming blue streamers from the ceiling), one the jungle room, plan on having a teepee outside

Activities: Having the kids bring their bottles with them and doing messages in a bottle for them to take to the beach at a later date, treasure hunt (I'm making loot bags for them all to take their treasure home in-beads candy, chocolate coins, pirate telescopes... ), face painting in the teepee (suggestions here too please!)

the cake-I really need tips here-I am planning on making as Neverland, maybe do two layers, where I would cut the top layer in a shape of an island and use the bottom as water and use the extra pieces as the mountains, are there any other better suggestions on how to do this one?

That's what I have so far, so any new ideas out there?

All I can say is WOW (and I wish I had a party like that as a child)! Something else you could do is to do a tinkerbell cake or a pirate ship cake (link to video to make cake: http://familyfun.go.com/parties/holiday/specialfeature/doca0603_pirates_sf/)

HTH and I know it will be a hit! Could also get a treasure chest pinata. They make them now where you just pull on a string at the bottom (rather than hitting) and the child that pulls the correct string, it all comes falling out!

That's a pretty cool pirate ship! I think it would be more of a hit than a Tinkerbell cake though-she's not so much into Tinkerbell as she is Captain Hook. i hadn't really thought about a pinata-that's a great idea! Thank you!:)

Hello As far as the cake goes, you could scan and image to put on a cake. (such as the one below) I work in a bakery up here in mass and we do a TON of these image cakes!
Good luck!

I think your idea for the cake sounds really cute!! It sounds like you have really thought through her party and that it will be a hit!

Thank you all for the enthusiasm! As far as the image on the cake is there special paper I buy for that or is it something I would get a bakery to do?

I was trying to do as much of it myself as possible, to cut down on the expense. But if that is something fairly reasonable, it might be a consideration even though I still like the Neverland cake best, I'm just not sure how easy its going to be to make an island cake! :confused3

off the top of my head...

i would get some of that big black paper like they use for bulletin boards at school and have them lay down and cut out their shadow then have them stand up and take their picture with their shadow and send it with the thank you notes.

another shadow option...
a shadow wall where you hang a big roll of black paper that the kids stand in front of while "Michael" and "Wendy" trace

pirate tattoos

peter pan peanut butter sandwiches cut out in shapes (make sure there are no nut allergies among your guests)

goldfish crackers

pixie dust to go in the bottles with the invites...

candy jewelry for treasure

pixie sticks

walk the plank

peter pan sound track

i'll keep thinkin'...

walk the plank

VERY cute ideas WhenUwishUponAstar! I'm not sure what you meant by this, but in my mind is a game of red light - green light (maybe peter/hook) with each kid on a "plank" (certian length of paper) and trying to get back on the boat (end of paper).

Ty, u can call me star :)

sorry I was just brain storming...walk the plank was a trivia type game we played in school. the captain asks questions each wrong answer is a step... after so many you "jump" for every right answer you stay. The object is to get through 5 , 10 15 or however many without having to "jump"

or if that's too mature just walking across a very low balance beam could work too.

Great ideas Star! I thought about the shadow idea but do you know where I could get black paper for a descent price,or do you know about how much it runs($). The trivia game may be a little too advance for this age group-I have three kids that will be from ages 4-7 but most of them will be too young.
Thanks for the ideas on the snacks, i hadn't thought about goldfish.
I let my dd pick out the pixie dust to put in the invites the other day, so we are thinking along the same lines there. i figured i could also use it with face painting for the girls especially.

BTW, we got our costumes in the other day-I am Tinkerbell, DH is Captain Hook and DD is Peter Pan. I haven't been able to get the costume off of her! :rotfl2:

i also picked up the bottles from a wine making supply place, I got 12 bottles and 12 corks for $14 so not too bad there.

Any ideas on where I might could get pirate tattoos that aren't POC specific? i have seen plenty of POC but just not regular tattoos.

my son who's 9 had a POC/pool party at our country club this summer and I bought some pirate stuff that wasn't POC at our local party supply http://www.pinatas.com/Pirate_Party_Tattoos_8_p/pirapt.htmstore...that looked like this I found some pirate themed stuff that I liked better than the POC stuff so I mixed and matched it worked out well. I also bought black bandanna's cheap at the craft store and tied them on them as they left along with their treasure(gift bags)

as far as the paper goes http://www.discountschoolsupply.com/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?product=3684&category=785 you could go this route, I'd check my local teacher supply store first because they might sell it in pieces instead of having to buy the whole roll.
