Any Opinions on Saratoga Springs?

We are also DVCers and this is our home resort. It is probably one of our favorites next to VWL. The biggest thing we liked is the room availibility and how close we were to DTD. Just a bus or boat ride away or 2 minutes in your car. The pool is also wonderful and the restaurants are good too. The Artist's Palatte (the counter service restaurant) is great and it is right next to the pool. I would highly recommend this resort.

We love love love...SSR!! Its our home resort and it happens to be our favoriate DVC resort also. (I have stayed at all of them...WLV is our 2nd fav one)

If you go over to the DVC forums...do a search on SSR...you will find tons of information!

There really isn't anything I can say bad about it. We have been guests there at least 7 times and not a bad trip yet.

I was there last month, and loved it. I stayed in a 1-BR Villa in the Paddocks. I originally had booked a 1-BR Studio, but was upgraded at check-in.

We stayed at SSR last Aug. It was wonderful. SSR is a beautiful resort. It's very close to DTD. My son loved the pool. He looked forward to going back to the resort to use the pool slide and watch movies at poolside.Dh spent most of his time in the gym. Which he says is the best on Disney property. Go for it! Trust me SSr is so under rated.

We just returned from our first stay at SSR and it was great! We had a ground level studio in the 8500 building (8526?). It was in the center of the bldg and the patio overlooked the golf course. When we walked out the front door, we were right at the quiet pool (with red chairs and a snack bar, hot tub, etc.). We were also VERY close to the main pool/restaurants. It was PERFECT. We have stayed at all dvc except AKV and BCV. Also, the boat to DTD is always nice.

not sure abt upgrades..accomodations are catergorized by number of pts...a studio, 1 bdr villa, 2 bdr villa or Grand Villa (3 bdr's)

I had a studio last month and it was lovely! Plenty of space...top floor , great view! (Grandstand) close to the main pool etc...but you also have your private pool for this area.

Can walk or boat it to DTD..I loved the lounge area....CM's were great! Going back in Dec again!

You will love it!

wow! Are you a DVC member ..or did you pay cash? Good for you! DVC members normally dont get an upgrade, unless perhaps there is some kind of maintenence issus, etc with the room....
However, I would think upgrades occur more often in other resorts over DVC resorts.

Not a DVC member, just a guest paying cash. I considered myself to be very lucky and will definitely stay at SSR again.

Well, I just had a quick trip, mostly relaxing and shopping at DTD.....walked there and boated it back...bought too much stuff!

ANyway...I used the bus service 3 times, no issues at all!!'

Have a great time. Do you enjoy DD? It's nice to be so close. I would ask for Congress Park or Grandstand. There are two pathways to DD. One to the Westside Cirque Du Soleil area and one to the Marketplace side. Enjoy.

SSR is our home resort and it's absolutely beautiful, quieter and more laidback than some of the other Disney Resort hotels, but stunning and relaxing nevertheless.

We stayed in Grandstand section and had a wonderful view.

DW has us booked in a Grand Villa at SSR in two weeks (!!!)

I'm starting to get kind of excited... We've got BWV as our home resort, and bought SSR points last year, will be our first trip to SSR. I have yet to hear any complaints about SSR.

We got upgraded last year. It was our 10th ann. I ordered a basket from Betsy. When I arrived , we were told we were the family of the day. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom and given balloons with the basket . My son still has the certificate on his wall.

yes - all the DVC resorts have ceiling fans. Studios are my favorite (love saving points).
