AKL to Contemporary

What is the best way to get from AKL to the Contemporary using Disney transporation?

We stayed at AKL last December and traveled to the Contemporary quite a few times for dinner. We took the bus to the Magic Kingdom and hopped on the monorail to the Contemporary. It is the first stop after getting on the monorail at MK.

Do buses go directly to MK or go to the TTC and then you have to take a ferry/monorail to MK?

The FASTEST way is to take a cab...but that will cost you about $20 with tip You can also take the longer route of going to Either MK or Epcot (basically whatever bus comes first) and then taking the monorail. When we get fed up of waiting for buses and having to leave early to get to dinner on time, we take a cab

There are direct buses to all the parks, water parks, and DTD from AKL

The trip from AKL-MK is typically 20-25 minutes depending on traffic. But you have to wait for the bus at MK, then you have to walk (short walk) to the Monorail station, then wait for the monorail and ride it to CR. So if you have say a 7pm dinner reservation, you definately need to leave your room at AKL by 5:30pm.

It might be faster to just walk from the MK bus stop to the Contemporary. The MK monorail station is on the other side of the turnstiles from where the bus drops you off and then you would need to wait for the monorail to arrive.

Oh yeah! We did that too. I forgot about that one. Actually it was faster than taking the monorail. Thanks for reminding me.

exactly. you'd have to wait for the MK bus at the AKL but once you got off the bus, you'd only be a short walk from the CR. (you'd have to walk about that far to get to the monorail to ride back to the CR...)

i wouldn't take the epcot bus, either, since the epcot monorail would only take you to the TTC, which means making 3 connections instead of just 1, and would take a lot longer even if the epcot bus came sooner.
