Doubletree Suites on WDW property

I would also like to know some info about this resort, also what other resorts are there in that area that are considered on-site?

We've stayed at Doubletree several times. We like it because of the roominess for our family of 6. It's nice to have the fridge. The beds are comfy. Very close to DTD. We've walked before and it's not too far. Mousesavers often has good deals for Doubletree.

Disney does have Disney transportation from the Doubletree, dont they??

Ive stayed at the Double Tree on my last two trips to Disney. Great rooms a cool festive atmosphere with bright colors and friendly people. If you happen to be a Hilton Honors Member they treat you even better. Diamond members get free upgrades!

Their are buses on the 15 and 45 of every hour, but they arent run by Disney. DTD is about 12-15 minutes walk from the Double Tree. Ive always stayed on the top floor and it has a great view of Epcot and the Animal Kingdom off in the distance. Not to mention the best cookies on the planet!!

Feel free to PM me with any questions

Brent

PS this should help you guys out! http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/propertymap.htm

Will the bus take you right to Epcot or do you have many stops? We are Hilton Gold members- what do they do? Thanks guys.:)

We totally enjoyed our week at the DTS.

We are Diamond members and the only real perk other than what you have signed up for at your level, was the good service. We requested a DTD view which is great because you can see fireworks and have a nicer view. I would not want pool view because you see I-4. When we called to get an extra chair in room, dining set has 4 and we are 5, it came immediately. A package we were waiting for they were diligent about getting to us. Just exceptional service.

I would try to book via Mousesavers because we got the cold breakfast buffet for free. The best cold buffet we have ever gotten. Lots of great fresh fruit and breads etc.

We drove to the parks to I don't know about the bus. Oh the beds were very comfy :cloud9:

Like I said buses run on the 15 and 45 minute mark, to all parks. Some buses make more than one stop like AK and BB or MGM and TL for instance so you might be on one a few minutes longer. They are free and punctual for the most part. HHonors status doesnt give you a ton more but I do belive they will upgrade you if you ask when you book if rooms are available. I think Diamond members get first crack though. I honestly have no complaints to speak of. Our last trip took a while to get into our room but we were spoiled by our 06 trip when our room was ready at 11.00 am

sub-ing....

I won a 3 night stay at the DblTree and am thinking about using it next October.

How is the transportation? You answered that it was good and reliable. Did they drop you off at each hotel or one spot and you had to walk.

How is it walking to DTD? Is it safe? What about to Crossroads?

We'll have a car so could use that instead. Is it a pain getting the car out to just go to DTD?

How is the resort? The pictures looked pretty good. I noticed the hotel is not on WDWInfo site. Does that mean that the hotel is not up to Pete's standard?

Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am clueless...
This is on DW property but does this give you the "onsite" perks like EMHs?

Thanks!

No.

Of DTD resorts the only perk there is the Hilton gets EMH.

Yes to everything except Magical Express.

Oops, that's wrong. Just checked out the info and no EMH. Will have to work that into my plans.

Lor,

If you check out the map I linked to in the post above you can see exactly what hotels are around the Double Tree. Although the bus doesnt stop at all of them (Mears picks up at some of them) It stops at 3 or 4 including the DTree at the side entrace. The walk to DTD is right along Lake Buene vista Blvd so I dont think I would let me teenage daughter walk by themselves at 11pm:sad2: Parking during the busy season at DTD is a pain-but in october I dont think you'll have all that much trouble. I personally think the Dtree was a great place to stay plenty of free parking a great pool, and beautiful land flowers and shrubs.

Thanks Brent! I checked out the map. Since we have a rental car, I think we'll drive on the days that we are at the DoubleTree. I have an AP so I should get to park for free at the park. We're also doing SeaWorld one day.

The first half of our trip we'll be staying at Shades of Green and then we'll move to DblTree. Looking forward to it.

Does it have a good fitness center?

POP to be honest I dont know. Ive been an amature powerlifter for 17 years and this is one week each year I dont hit the Gym!:lmao:

If you go to the Double Tree web site it should give you a little info on it and you could always call the front desk!

My wife and I are planning an October trip this year. In 06 and 07 we stayed at the DTree and had a wonderful experience. I think you will be very happy. If you can bump up to a suite they are huge.

Enjoy!
