We stayed at CSR Nov. 29 - Dec. 9 and had the opposite experience. We felt like we were staying at a deserted resort. We would get back to the resort between 10pm - 12 am and the path ways would be deserted. My son was kind of creeped out walking along them at night time by ourselves. I never heard any noise, not even my neighbours. I remember last year when we stayed at All Star Sports we could hear the the toilets flush from the room next to us and there were always people about no matter the time. But that doesn't bother me as we use to live in an apartment building right next door to a play ground so I pretty much learned to block out any unwanted noise.

Both my son and I were impressed by the theming of the Maya Grill. It's a very beautiful restaurant. And for those of you on the dinig plan, Maya Grill is one of the few places that kids can get steak in a kid's meal. My son was thrilled about that! We didn't eat at the Pepper Market so I can't comment about that but as I said in a earlier post, I was impressed about the Rix Cafe.

Sorry your experience wasn't so magical. Any negative experiences I had at Disney (resort or theme park) was caused by a guest, not by Disney. Its too bad people can't be more respectful of others so everyone can have a magical time.

I was there at the same time (11/30-12/8) and it was deserted, but that is not a bad thing by any means. We had only wonderful experiences there and would stay there again in a heartbeat. The resort is beautiful and very peaceful and relaxing. There were bunnies all over the place when we got back at night and my kids loved that. We ate at Pepper market only once for a late dinner and the food was delicious! We stayed in Casitas 3 on the third floor and had a water view. We were in a corner room and the view was slightly obstructed, but it was still beautiful in the early morning hours. When we arrived we had two towel animals, but nothing else the rest of the week, but mousekeeping was great and our room was always very clean and the kids toys were on the right beds:laughing:

I never would have been able to afford to stay there if it weren't for our CM friend getting us such a great discount, and I am so grateful to him for that because we had one of the best vacations we ever had...not to mention not a drop of rain and beautiful, cooler weather the whole week.

We also were there from Nov 30 - Dec 8th and we loved it.

We were in Cabanas 8, which was just what I requested. It was a short walk to the main lobby, stores and dining. The resort is more beautiful than the pictures, so relaxing and you really felt like you were away from it all.

We actually ate a few times at the PM, food was okay but to me dumb downed a bit, most needed more seasoning. I really liked the chinese, DH loved the steak he ordered the first night.

There were 2 conventions going on, but you would never know it. Most had on logo shirts and stayed to themselves.

Mousekeeping was excellent and we left a tip each day, we had the same person and on our last day we were left a note from her thanking us for thinking of her all week.. So sweet!!!

I only used the bus one night when DH wanted to head back from the parks and I wanted to go to the DIS meet at the swan so I sent him on his way and took the bus back from Epcot. It was great, easy to find and fast back to the resort. Called DH when I was walking out of Epcot and I was in our room about 15-20 minutes later.

I only have 3 things to complain about, the first is the smoking area near the Cabanas. I am a smoker and I felt very uncomfortable there as it was the main walkway from the Lobby to the Dig site and Ranchero's. I did my best to not blow smoke if anyone was walking by. Also it is very dark there at night, not a safe location at all in my opinion.

The second being no carts to use to load and unload your car from the parking lots, it was a long hike when you are carrying and pulling luggage, DH and I actually after the first trip, left our hanging clothes in the car and switched things out each on the way back to the room day.

Lastly, those golf carts, the drivers FLY around the resort in them. We observed this every day we were there and after about the third day of jumping out of the way, I just stopped dead in my tracks and made them slow down, I also will admit yelling slow down a few times. They are an accident waiting to happen, a small child will get hurt if a parent is not paying attention.

Overall it was an awesome experience and we will stay there again. I have uploaded a photo video of Coro from our trip if anyone wants to watch it. Just go to my website and click on the video link. You may be asked to DL a plug in, it is safe to do so, I use Pro Show Gold to create my slide shows and it is needed to view the videos over the internet.

Anyone heading there soon have a GREAT time, you will love it.

If you book a king size bed, in which building are they? All villages have king beds. Also are they in a preferred location or all over? All over. Are they lake view? Some are, remember there is only 124 king rooms.

If they are not then well book a preferred location with a lake view. Also remember that waterview does not automatically mean lake view. At Disney, a quiet pool, fountain or and body of water is a waterview room.

Also, some of the king rooms are handicapped equipped so you cold have a walk in shower versus a tub.

Hi DisneyLunaTics: we got home safely before the worst hit us; the snow/ice storm was quite a shock after the 80 degree temps all week at Disney!

We were in the Ranchos section, room 7100. We were on the far side of the resort from El Centro, where the main restaurants and lobby are. We had a rental car, so it wasn't a big deal to us, because the parking lot surrounds the resort. If we would have had to walk, though, it would have been inconvenient I think with a 4 year old. I must say the ranchos was very quiet; we never had any problems with noise. We walked around the resort one night, and noticed a lot of people congregating / partying outside the casitas section. The pool at the casitas always seemed full, where the ranchos pool never had more than 5 other people in it the whole time we were there. Even the dig site pool was relatively empty. I think the noise was partly due to the fact that the World Salsa Dancing Championships were being held, and all the teams were socializing.

I hope you have a wonderful time; we really like csr. Definitely take time to explore the resort after the sun sets; the lights of the buildings reflecting on the lake at night is simply stunning!

Lisa

King rooms are located all over the resort. There are 124 of them and some of them are handicapped accessible.

hi guys, i'm going to be at csr jan. 2-8 on the dining plan and am waffling on whether or not to get a refillable mug. do they have any juice options for the refillable mugs?

Hi there...we stayed at CSR for the first time 12/14-12/16 and this is my first visit to the DIS upon returning. We had a great time. The resort is beautiful, the CM's were very attentive and the resort did seem close to all of the parks.
There was some confusion about the buses....I would have liked the internal bus to say internal on it. I remember having to look for a DTD bus to get from my room to the main areas.:confused3
We too got strange looks from CMs when we paid cash for anything. Why is that such a sin?
I know too that there was a Salsa Dance competition going on, but we never had any problems with the other guests.
My DH is not very fond of the Mexican theme, so I'm not sure if I will take him back....but there is always the possibility for a girls trip at CSR.
I enjoyed it greatly!:goodvibes

Let me preface this by saying WE LOVED CSR!

We arrived 12/15...midday, and our room was ready. The hotel was not at all crowded despite the Salsa Championships. I actually spoke with one of the dancers, and she was very nice. We stayed in room 8220 in Cabanas 8A. This is not a building I requested, however, I would absolutely stay there again. It was always quiet, and my fiance and I remarked everyday how we never heard anyone.

We were extremely close to Bus stop 4, and only a short walk to El Centro. We had an upper floor room, on the corner. I had only asked for a limited view, but had this one from our room:

Transportation was wonderful, we never waited for any buses for more then 15 minutes, and they were never crowded. I think we got a seat each time we rode. We also loved the fact that the theme park bus stop was always the closest to the entrance. Our tired little feet REALLY appreciated it!

We only ate at Pepper Market one afternoon. It was alright...it wasn't crowded, but my fajitas took FOREVER. And, the guy was kinda rude when he gave me my food. Other then that, I can't really comment on the hotel food. Oh...except for the gelato from the little cafe next to Panchitos. It was excellent!

The pool was great (The Dig Site), we rode the water slide, and used the jacuzzi. Both were great.

The Concierge service was wonderful. They helped a lot with tickets, and last minute dining ressies, as well as easing my fears by telling me that the buses would start running early for my 8am ADR. The front desk told me the opposite, and said I would have to take a taxi. My only other complaint was our first day with mousekeeping. We got back at almost 4:30p, and our room was still not cleaned. I just called the front desk who said they would send someone, and my fiance and I went to the pool. When we got back it was all cleaned.

My overall rating of CSR was that it was AMAZING. My finace (who is pretty picky), loved the place. He kept telling me that I did a good job picking it out. He reiterated that we would be staying there again.
Thanks Buzz for all the words of wisdom!

We stayed at CSR Dec 5-9 after staying 4 nights at AKL.

Check-in was a breeze since we arrived early. Right after checking out of AKL we grabbed a cab and got to CSR about 10am. Beautiful lobby! Gorgeous!

I had previously requested Casitas or Cabanas and we ended up in the Ranchos section...:confused3 We didn't feel like changing the room because the one they offered was ready. We walked over to 7A and realized we were pretty much the furthest room from El Centro...wow what a walk that was!

Transportation was wonderful. Busses were about every 5-10 minutes and we never had to stand when leaving from the resort. Although, the walk to the bus stop was a little far, but not too bad.

Mousekeeping was something.... ....the day after we checked in we were leaving for a park and I noticed something under the bed by the door. I bent down and picked it up and it was a "wrapper" of some sorts for the male gender....if you get what I'm hinting too. :scared1: DH was not pleased at all and called housekeeping immediately to have our beds stripped and new sheets and bedspreads. I had a hard time sleeping that night wondering if they really did that request. Another incidence was we left a tip envelope for the maid and none of the days did she pick it up. Not sure if she/he can read English, but we changed spots everyday to make sure they would see it and to no avail did they pick it up. Guess it saved us some money...:rolleyes1
The Dig Site was great! Big pool, wonderful water slide. Before we left I saw that the waterslide was to be closed, but it was open the whole 5 days we were there.

We ate at Pepper Market a few times for lunch and we loved it. Great selection and they give you sooooo much food. We left stuffed everytime. Rix opened up a day we were there and the inside looked great even though we never had a drink or grabbed food.

I was looking forward to the little lizards...or whatever they are...but there weren't too many. :sad1: Them things are so cute! I know I'm probably the only one who thinks so, but I was looking forward to them after we stayed at CBR last time and they were everywhere!

Well overall great stay....Would I stay again?....Absolutely....Although, I think I'm going to check out other resorts before coming back to this one. Definitely would give a thumbs up. Just watch out for the housekeeping....

We have friends that are at CS right now and have sold us on this resort. We are thinking about another trip next oct/nov but we will have a 5th member of our family this time. he will only be about 7-8 months old. I have been trying to decide between AKL or WL b/c we will need more space ( we usually stay at POP). Now we are considering here instead. They are in the cabana section. can you pay for preferred if you really want a certain section??:confused3
