Wow, what a Fantastic find on the World Wide Web. This is a Great Site. We Camp at Fort Wilderness every December, and now we've added a Week in the summer.
With our December trip coming up, we wanted to bring our Fire Pit for our own little campfire when the kids got off to Bed! Are these allowed?

Thx.....

Fully enclosed portable fire pits are allowed unless there is a fire ban in effect due to dry conditions.

Unless I am wrong, I think there are firepits at each campsite. I seem to remember using them for something or other (than a fire).

Enjoy!

Welcome to the DIS Camping Board!!

No, there are no fire pits already at the campsites, because there are no ground fires allowed.

Unless there's a fire ban because of dry weather, you are allowed to use your own portable fire pit, if it's fully enclosed with a screen & cover. Like the one in this picture:

Here's a picture I took last weekend while I was lurking around Ftwildernessguy's shed.

Welcome! May you love the FW addiction as much as the rest of us!:hippie:

Good thing it's my job to keep these thread on-topic! And, I do such a good job, too!! :cutie:

Don't mean to bring this back on topic but I will.

While at FW the week before and during Thanksgiving, my son in law built a small fire in the BBQ grill while we was cooking hamburgers outside. The guy across from us was building a bonfire in his every night. When I saw what my son in law had done, I told him to let it burn out and not feed it anymore and it was blowing ashes on the cooking grill anyway.
Anyway, three days later we find a note on the door telling us no fires was allowed. Guess they got the guy across the street and saw the ashes in ours and decided we needed a note also.

uuuhhgg....leave it to Ken to bring a well askewed thread back to where it "supposed to be"...that guys soo rude!!!;)
