Okay well, the thread on the DL board seems to be moving along nicely.

Disneyland "Girls Only" Trip Thread

We've gotten quite a few interested in doing a Disneyland "Girls Only" Trip!! :banana: (meaning no men and no kids)

We've talked about the end of April and the beginning of May. I can do either one, so I thought a poll would be the easiest way to pick. Hopefully whatever wins will work for most people. :wizard:

The dates are either April 24-28 Thurs-Mon OR May 1-5 Thurs-Mon.

Now for those with Annual Passes the block out dates during those time frames are as follows:

Premium = None
Deluxe = April 26 May 3
SoCal = April 26 May 3
SoCal Select = April 25,26,27 May 2,3,4

So if you have either the Deluxe or the SoCal then no matter which dates win, there will be one day (Saturday) that would be blacked out.
However, you can buy a block out day pass for $40 that allows entrance into both parks for that day.

If you need to take a look at a 2008 calendar, here's a link to one online:

Okay, let the voting begin!! :)

Ok I voted for the 1-5 of May.

Dd has a dance competition during that April Weekend that I would probably have to attend. Of course I COULD force daddy to go to a dance competition all weekend while I rush off to DL. HMMMM let me rethink this. :rotfl:

Oh no! Really. Wow, they sure plan them far in advance don't they. But you know, I'm thinking that if that week-end wins, a dance competition would be a great way to get in some father/daughter bonding time. :rolleyes1

I voted for the last weekend in April because finals start on May 7, and a trip to Disneyland doesn't sound like a great way to study for finals.

IF the week-end in May ends up winning then here's the plan.... We'll go on POTC a few times. I'll bring the flashlight, you bring your books and we can all take turns quizzing you. :thumbsup2

Where there's a will, there's a way. :lmao:

Seriously ladies, I know from previous trips that there is simply no dates that are perfect for everyone, unfortunately. :guilty: But I hope that which ever dates end up coming out ahead, that we can get a nice big group going. :)

I'll hold the flashlight for her on Space Mountain! We can take turns helping out!:thumbsup2

Either way I'm going!!

me too!!! I dont care when we go, or where we stay, I am going!! Og course if everyone ELSE was going to stay at the GCH, then I would have to as well, right?:rolleyes1

You gals haven't even left on your Nov trip yet and you're planning a spring one for DL. You rock!

Next you will be planning a trip to DLP. Better start planning for your passports now. ;)

Have fun.

Hi Shelley! Long time no see.

Actually this is a different group of ladies, LOL. Your thinking of the group you met up with last year in WDW. That group is in FL as we speak. :thumbsup2 I wasn't able to go this time around for different reasons, but I know they are off having another great trip!

I moved over the summer from MI to NV and have since bought annual passes to Disneyland so I figured I'd be spending most of my time there and decided to get a "Girls Only" trip planned for DL. :)

But DLP does sound interesting..... Maybe next time! ;) :rotfl:

Geeze, Shelley. Why don't you just come? I'll probably drive up for a day or two or stay overnight one night. I'm sure we can help you do an affordable trip somehow. It's about time you came to Disneyland!

Shelley's never been to DL?? Then I agree, it's about time. :thumbsup2

I voted May 1-5, but I think I could swing the last weekend in April too. Ooooo, I'm getting excited!

I voted April, but could come t-f in May. I work 2 out of three Satudays, and the Saturday in April happens to be an off Saturday for me!!! I can always try switching Saturdays...but that, sadly, involves groveling and playing serious "nice-nice" with the boss. Hopefully we go April so I do not have to resort to that!!!!!!!

Hopefully it all works out for you, but if not and you have to resort to groveling, trust me, for this, it will be worth it. ;)

Where I work I have to plan a year in advance so I already will be there 4 April until 11. And I live in North Pole so really hard for the other dates sorry but did sound like alot of fun

Beth, Congrats on the move! I remember you talking about it.

Chris keeps forgetting that I've been out of work since the end of Jan and going back to school since the end of April. I need to find a JOB to pay for any trips I might be thinking of for 2008. Somehow I don't think they'd like me taking off within 3-4 months of starting if I can find a job in Jan.

I'd need affordable, Chris. Any hotel prices I looked at were way more than I'd like to spend. Pop Century is my kind of pricing or use DVC points....once it officially has DVC.

But I will keep this in mind. If I'm working temp jobs, maybe I can get the time off.

Oh no, really? Darn. Well, if anything at all should change, then just know you are always welcome to join at any time.

Thank you! Yep, we finally moved out of MI.

If you get a job, just tell them in the interview that you have a non refundable trip planned. :rolleyes1 ;)

With the friends that I have that would be 3-4 non refundable trips planned. (Half with Chris and the girls and the other half with another board of friends) Good thing most are long weekends like you're planning now.

Beth...is it okay to "cross over" and come on this trip as well? Not sure how the dollars will line up since I am taking my nephew to WDW and Universal in August...but I really want to do DL and Universal Hollywood...Any budgeting info being tossed around yet?

Hi Christine!! It's more then ok!! I'd love for you to come so I can finally meet you!!!

January (Daisy_77) who went last year to WDW is going on this trip as well. So if you go, you'll get to meet her. She's posted on the other thread and you've probably seen pics of her DD.

Anyways, there is a thread on the DL board that talks about some prices.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1626753

I know I'm going to stay off site at the cheapest place possible. LOL If we can get the HoJo (Howard Johnson Anaheim) using that entertainment book rate, then that would only run around $59-$69 a night. If you get a room mate then it would be even cheaper.

Also there was mention of the Desert Inn Anaheim.
http://www.anaheimdesertinn.com/

They have a suite there that has four beds:

C2 - Parlor Family Suite
Designed with the comforts of home in mind, the bright and spacious C2 Suite is a luxurious family suite. Consisting of 3 separate sleeping areas, 2 bedrooms with 4 Queen Size beds and one living room with a pull out sofa bed, 2 baths and 800 SQ FT of space, this large suite sleeps up to 10 people.

It would be $696.90 (using the May dates) but if you divide that by 4, then each person would only have to pay $174.23 for all four night and that includes tax. Plus this hotel is close enough to DL to walk. :thumbsup2

So there's ideas and options being tossed around. I'm sure some will want to stay at a Disney hotel, but we have several who are willing to stay off site and save their money for other things..... like drinks, and shopping!!! :banana: :banana: :lmao:

Come over to the other thread and say hi. :)
