Concierge question

Can someone tell me or point me to a thread that tells exactly what concierge does for you on DCL.

We usaully stay at concierge level at WDW and enjoy all of its amenities..

Let's see... Before you cruise you can call someone who will say they set up things the way you want, only to arrive and find one of the most important things NOT set up..

Then once onboard the ship you can go and wait 45 minutes at the concierge meeting to try and get the above mentioned issue taken care of, to find that it can't be.

Then you get a bunch of fruit with no knife or place to cut it, and assorted oddly and unnaturally colored cakes, and over done cookies and such everynight.

They live to let you know where the characters are at any given moment and what the weather is suppose to be like that day...

They leave you acarde cards, but fail to tell you they are not good on any of the -prize- games, which of course are the games the kids want to play the most, and you look like a big shmoe when you inform them the cards they gave you dont work... that's when they mention about the prize games....

They did book us a Margarita tasting for a group of 20, but failed to leave us tickets, so when we arrived everyone was asking for tickets and we had none.... and I not knowing what else to do assumed everyone would be charged to my account and scrambled to collect money from everyone in my party...

I think that about sums it up....

Sadly, there's no dedicated concierge guest services area or lounge serving the sort of goodies you expect when staying concierge level in WDW. Having said that, we had only positive experiences with the onboard concierge team during our September Western Caribbean cruise. Every request made was sorted quickly and efficiently - they really enhanced our vacation...

It's nothing like the WDW Resort Concierge experience which is absolutely wonderful. Our Concierge experience on DCL has been fine- nothing amazing and nothing awful. We book our suites on DCL for the extra space and well-appointed stateroom, the concierge service is not even a factor anymore.

Hopefully with the new ships DCL raises the bar for their suite level services. I have a whole wish list!

I stayed in a normal veranda room on the 6th floor last January (4 day) and thought that was the concierge level. You mean it gets better. It seems like all the service you receive just outdoes anything a concierge level could provide.

Does anyone know if other cruise lines offer a more comprehensive concierge service?
