Hi all
When there last March we did not manage to see the Lion king show in the Videopolis . We did not know you had to book before hand in the park. Could anyone let us know how and where you can book, for our next visit in Febuary.
Thanks again
Linnielass

hi we went in august no you dont have to book but everyone starts to que about 45mins brfore the show starts:eek:

we managed to cheat our way into seeing the show! we just turned up to eat at videopolis about an hour before the show was due to start... we managed to get a good seat to see it and because of the queues didnt have to drag our food out that long.
depends on the experience that you want... if you just want to see the show then head for the dining bit, although word of warning you MUST buy something before you sit down, otherwise the cleaners and staff will pounce and demand you either buy or leave!!

Hi Linnielass
Previously there's been a sign up with times that tickets would be distributed for the show, French and English times and the tickets were given out on a first come first served basis. But as mum of three reports it would appear that you now turn up at the show times and no tickets are needed. :)

When we were there in July, you had to line up for tickets. The tickets for all the shows were distributed at the same time, you just requested which time you wanted and how many. By the way, not all of the party needed to be in line. That might have been because of tourist season. Maybe in the slow times, there are no tickets? The show was OK, not anything as spectacular as the show in Animal Kingdom.

have been in Jan and we just walked in..no queues to speak of!

Hi, we went in April and had to queue for tickets - so I guess it depends on the time of year.

The show was fantastic - well worth it - if you want a good seat get there a bit early - centre front is good for in show interaction, NOT if you have a scaredy cat though as (without giving away too much) the scar character can be quite scary and in your face, but if you want to meet the characters or have some interaction after the show, they went up and down the 2 central aisles, so would head for the right hand central aisle near the front for the best seats. (along with everyone else!!)

Cheers,
Tessa

I understand they've now done away with the need to pre-collect tickets. I think this was on the basis of the show having been around a few years and the rush not so bad. I'd still expect healthy queues to get in though.

I would never bother queing for tickets - as disneyhockeymad said - if you time your meal right and just get a central seat you've got pretty good view anywhere in Videopolis and there are large screens too.

We've watched this show both in the theatre and in the fast food restaurant. Queuing to watch it properly would always be our first choice but a quick pop out of the rain then the restaurant would work.
Although in the summer there was just to many people trying to see the show this way that many left disappointed and came back later and queued up :)

Thanks to all who have replied, we are going half term next Febuary, during the week ,so we will see who busy it is . :cool1:
Thank you

Is the Lion King show in DLP like the one in WDW???

no its nothing like the festival of the Lion King at WDW... and also.. i have to disagree with Ware Bears.. its not from the West End show... (having seen that 6 x).. although it has a similar feel to it, i would agree.

In my opinion.. as with all the shows at DLRP that Ive seen (except for the Tarzan show.. which was FAB!) - the shows are no where near the standard of the WdW shows. The performers are just not the same standard.... sadly..

Its a nice place to thaw out though... but I have to be honest.. I didnt rate the show particularly.

We did have to get the tickets before hand when we were there last year... but it could have changed since last November.

i never understand why people dont just go in via the hyperion... there are ALWAYS seats up there... and they have the EXACT same view as the seats down in the theatre... plus you have tables to sit at with drink and food etc...
ive seen the show a number of times and never booked or gone in thru the main entrance. i always see it via the hyperion!

D.

... because you are not close enough to have interaction with the cast :goodvibes . In the summer for those of us with children the view from Hyperion was not great and there were many disappointed youngsters who could not see over the heads of the standing adults :confused3

I'm glad it is there as an option but IMHO it is a 2nd choice option ;)

I was a bit gutted that this wasnt showing whilst we were there - DD & DS would have loved it i reckon!

Ah well - something to save for if (when) we go back :D
