giordano's pizza question

This may be a bit nutz, but I lived in Chicago for 6 years and we used to get Giordano's Stuffed Pizza. I wonder if it's the same place at Disney or not?

Does anybody know if the Giordano's is the same as the one in Chicago?

Regardless- somebody said that they stayed at SSR and had it delivered- is there a way to have it delivered to another disney resort or is delivery just an SSR thing? I wonder if I could pick it up instead?

It is the same and just as good. We always get some stuffed pizza to go and keep it in the fridge.

Just an FYI, but Giordanos does mail order delivery all over the US

Yes, it's the same! There are two locations. We have ordered from both, depending on which resort we were staying at (the distance factor!). Never had it delivered, instead we have always picked it up and brought it back to the resort with us.

This is a must for me every trip, as I lived in Chicago the first 27 years of my life, and there is just no good pizza in North Florida!

It's the same and yummy! Last year I was dying for something other than Disney fast food (we were not on the DDP) and we drove over to Giordano's which was only a 10 minute ride. We ordered the stuffed pizza and I got a glass of wine and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. I was sooooo happy that we ate there.

The first one is located at 12151 S. Apopka Vineland Rd. If you head out of Disney via the DTD hotel area, when you get to 535 (which forks off into Apopka Vineland) make a left. (When exiting Hotel Plaza Blvd, The Crossings is across the way from 535, that's where you make the left). Giordano's is just past the 535/Apopka Vineland fork in the road (You will continue straight/veer right for Apopka Vineland).

The other one is located at 7866 W. Irlo Bronson Hwy., which is the road Splendid China is located on. There are several different ways to get to this location from Disney...the new tollway, Sherberth Rd., and I-4.

I have had Giordano’s in Chicago (Rush location) and in Orlando. They are the same restaurants and the pizzas are the same, but they do not taste exactly alike. I prefer the crust of the stuffed pizza in Chicago far more than in Orlando.
Don't get me wrong, we always go to the Orlando locations when we are there, just not the same if you have them in Chicago and then visit them in Orlando a couple of months later. You will notice a difference.
They do have mail order across the US, but they only ship pizzas with no meat. You also don't have the same type of ovens that they use, so the pizzas don't taste the same. There is no substitute for getting the pizza in the restaurant.

We also are former Chicagoans and I saved this list of resorts they will deliver to from a previous post.
Giordano's at Lake Buena Vista... They deliver to All Stars, Dolphin, Swan, Boardwalk Beach Club, Port Orleans, OKW, and SSR and that's it!!!The phone # for that Giordano's is (407) 239-8900

If you really want the pizza you may want to call and be sure they deliver to your resort.

We've had them deliver to Animal Kingdom Lodge and Pop Century on several occasions.
