Daughter is getting married in Jan. There will be approximatly 10 to 15 people for dinner. We are looking for an on site resturant for a good meal where we can also sit a little a have a few drinks. Not really concerned about the cost. We will cosider off site but prefer on site mainly because I don't want to have to drive.. Will be having a larger reception back home.

You might want to look into renting the Fireside Room at Victoria and Alberts. The doors can be closed off so it wouldn't disturb the people in the other part of the dining room.

Its $1750 to rent for up to 10/12 people + 125 per person after that. Thats for the dinner. Wine and cocktails would be more.

Have you checked the bride board - they may be able to help too- BUT being a former Disney bride.... I know that Citricos is avaliable, Yachtsman has a room. I am assuming this is an Escape wedding unless this is a brunch - you could always ask her EM for sugguestions. But Cape May Cafe had a room that I used for a Farewell Dinner. O'Hana is a lot of fun, but you may have a hard time getting an ADR since there is not really a room. Hope I helped

It's where DF and I are having our wedding night dinner. Granted, it's only 5 of us, but from the pictures I've seen, it's beautiful.

we had a wedding luncheon for 18 at the GF cafe in 1999- of course since they're using it for character dining now for I don't know how long I don't know if that would work for you. But they took great care of us

I would also vote for Narcoosees; but it is expensive. We ate there for free last week on the DDP and the total not including any alcoholic beverages was 380 for four of us.

I wouldn't worry about getting a 'room' to keep from bothering anyone else- there are so many big groups/grand gatherings these days big groups are EVERYWHERE. As long as you can get a group dining ressie- go for it! Just be advised they will likely put you at several tables instead of one long one. . .that's what they did with us at the Cafe and also at the castle when we met our guests there for dinner the same day after they all spent the afternoon in the MK We made all our arrangements through what was called Group Dining at the time; call Disney Dining and ask what they'd advise. The only thing they wouldn't let us have was a wedding cake- if we'd wanted that we'd have had to purchase a very $$$$ package through the wedding planners which was out of our range. But the desserts at most of the restaurants are so amazing that if you can forego the cake, you'll likely love what they have there.

I suggest the wine room at CG or the wine room at Jiko. There is also a wonderful private dining room at CG with a terrific fireworks view -- but you may need more than 12-15 to reserve it. The fireside room at V&A is also a great idea. I would want my own space, if possible, not because I would worry about disturbing others -- but because I would not want them disturbing me!

I have read quite some reviews about private dining experiences in non-usual places (not restaurants, but on the "beach" etc) or even in rides!
Maybe this is an idea...

I forgot her name and lost the link, but I remember one lady having her vow renewal at GMR and she had organised many special dinners before. Maybe go ask on the Wedding board, they might know who I am talking about.

I love the idea of the fireside room at the V & A. There is a little spot coming from the Boardwalk side heading to the International Gateway into Epcot.. it is like a porch, all done in white, and I have seen many receptions there.. not sure of how many people it holds but I am sure at least your party could be accommodated there. You would have to work with Disney to pick the menu, but it is a pretty spot if the weather is cooperating.

If you contact the Disney Convention representatives they can accomodate any size party anywhere on Disney site and they will customize your meals. Check disneymeetings.com.

At the Coronado Springs there's a lovely patio that would be large enough for a private party with servers carrying appetizers and then a lovely sit down meal. The Grand Floridian has a Whithall room that is lovely.

One issue to think about it is when you plan a 'reception' when you aren't having a DFTW they can and will cancel the whole thing on you if it gets discovered its for a wedding and it isn't through DFTW.

The ways of getting around this are some of the private dining events that already exist - Jikos, V&A, etc, CG or the Downtown Disney venues. Private events at Summerhouse, Seabreeze Pointe that are dealing with weddings have to be arranged through DFTW. One bride from the UK had an event cancelled on her when DFTW caught wind of it.

If you want a wedding dinner, I would stick to the restaurants and not private planned events so that no issues arise.

A friend of mine was recently in Epcot and saw that the isolated area next to the WS lagoon in Italy had been closed off for a private party - a wedding reception! The wedding party and guests all parked in a Cast lot behind Italy and were escorted through the backstage areas to the area set up for them. There were caterers and bartenders waiting for them already.

I can't imagine what something like that must have cost, but it must have been a lot. Still, if you can afford it, it's a wonderful option.

That would have to be done through Disney Fairy Tale Weddings for the Custom (Wishes) Brides. The minimums for Wishes Weddings start at $10,000.

Yep that would be my choice and is about the only semi-private place that I know of or is aware of except for something the GF might also offer that would fit the bill. I saw a wedding dinner in the Fireside Room at V&A's back in 2000 and they seemed to be enjoying it and the service looked good.

I don't get that. So I can't get married in Belgium, take the plane and have a reception at Disney? But I can book that same reception-room and have a birthday party? Just because the cake is different?
It doesn't make sense...

OP, have you thought about having a suite for one day and holding the reception in there?

I had my Intimate Wedding last year for exactly 15 people.
We dined at Ohanas and it was wonderful.
My family is big meat eaters and we loved the Tropical drinks and embiance.
The staff even cut and served our Wedding Cake for us.

No you could totally get married in Belgium and then go through the convention services and plan a private party(recption) but you would not go through DFTW. BUT what they do not want you to do is have the Intimate (Escape) brides having receptions by going through the convention services to plan a reception because ultimately that would be a cutom/wishes wedding w/o having one.... there are specific requirements for a disney wedding like guest minimums dollar minimums. Like for me - I really did not want to have a big reception at disney but I had too many ppl for an intimate so I had to do a custom but then we had a big reception at home too. But for an intimate they will still allow you to go to a restaurant and have a meal there kind of thing, just not the extras like for the custom weddings. I hope that makes sense.
