Dinner -- Chef Mickey or Ohana

Okay, so I booked Chef Mickey for dinner on our last day. We're doing no parks that day so I thought the DDs would like a little taste of characters before heading home the next am. Then, my 7yo (definite carnivore) saw something on the boards with me about Ohana. I got Ohana today but will need to cancel one of these ASAP.

So, any opinions? Trying to decide. I'm not sure how long you need to wait for food at Ohanas or how kid friendly the atmosphere is.

Also, from CSR, how to get to Poly??

Lots of questions - appreciate all help.. :goodvibes

I have had both for dinner and would much rather ohana for dinner than chef mickey's.

My daughter loves both restaurants but we only eat at chef mickey's for breakfast. Ohana is family friendly the food is served family style they bring out dishes of scalloped potatoes, glazed shrimp, wontons and dipping sauce, salad and you can have as much as you would like. The meat is brought around on large skewers by a server and you let them know what it is you want.

How to get there from CSR is hard to explain if you are driving you will have a map when you get to your resort that will be somewhat helpful as well as the signs. You can take the bus to MK and ride the monorail for boat to the Poly or CR.

I would pick 'Ohana for dinner if it was my choice. The food comes out very quickly and they are willing to get other items for the kids if it is needed.

Another Ohana for dinner fan here. CM is great for breakfast for kids and ther food is good as well. But Ohana is an immersive experience, especially if you can time your meal around Wishes. Most times they turn the lights down, and pump the sound in.

My kids not only loved the food, but the hula lessons as well and the coconut races. They had great interaction with the staff and just were entertained from beginning to end. They also serve my son's new favorite dessert of all time, the bread pudding, he always sticks to chocolate something, until now. He's asked me to experiment at home to try to duplicate it for him - I'm thrilled!

Ill be the dissenter here. ;) Based on food alone, I would definitely choose Chef Mickeys. The prime rib, raviolis, salad bar, and mashed potatoes, were very good! We also enjoyed the "specials of the day" very much too.

Ive been to Ohana before the menu changes and after(as recently as last December) and feel the experience has gone down hill. I've had 2 dinenrs at Chef Mickeys, last Decmeber and in July and thought they were wonderful.

Ohana, hands down!!! This was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had, at Disney or otherwise!

We've done both and Ohana is the one we keep coming back to. I will say I end up a bit disappointed with the degree of character interaction at all character meals so I'm sure that's part of it.

My kids adore all the activities at Ohana

We have eaten at both just recently in August. Both were good....however we were very rushed at Ohanas. There is another thread with a bunch of people that thought the same. They didnt rush you to leave...but rather there wasnt much time in between courses....they brought out the salad and bread and then the wontons etc...then the meat...then the dessert...I was so full so fast!! But the food was yummy!! Chef Mickeys was good as well....just depends if you want a buffett or not....have fun and eat up!!

Okay, thanks everyone for all the responses. I'm going to cancel CM and go for Ohanas. I didn't realize there were kids activities and since we're eating kind of late, getting food fast might actually be a plus for us!!
Also, thinking we might get there a little early and try to see Wishes before dinner -- can't beat that for a little last night magic at Disney!!
