I'm going to Victoria & Albert's for the first time this trip. I've been reading that the restaurant will call us a week before our scheduled reservation. If that's the case, we'll already be at WDW. Do I just call them through the dining reservations line? Do I even need to call them?

TIA :goodvibes

Hi,

We went in May for Ian's birthday. We were already at VWL and they called our room and left a message. When we called back they just wanted to check if we had any particular food dislikes or allergies so they can prepare your personalised menu (plus that we knew the dress code/times etc).

It was a fabulous meal - recommend the wine pairings with them. We were so impressed we are going back again in Oct for my birthday.

Have a great night.

Last year they did call and leave a message at our room. As long as you gave your resort confirmation number when you made the ADR I would think you'll be OK.

Enjoy--you're going to love it!!

Last month they called us 10 days before our reservation, thats how my wife found out we were eating there, and why she had to take a dress to Disney;)

I never knew about this until today.
When I got home, I had the nicest message ever from them confirming our ressie for September 27th. So they called a little more than a week out.

They want to make sure they have our names spelled correctly and discuss any food allergies. I guess you could call them to confirm if you won't be home.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

I'll have to check with my TA since she made the ADR for us.

Just one more question (mostly for the ladies) ... did you find the restaurant chilly? I'm planning to take a wrap with me but I'm wondering how cool it really is. I have the same problem at work in the summer - it's boiling hot outside and then freezing cold indoors :)

You can always call V&A directly and reconfirm yourself.IT's what we always do. Best time is later in the day--.
And we always find V&A to be quite warm. In fact, last two meals there it was so warm that several men actually took off their jackets!

We just ate there this past week (most incredible dining experience I have ever had - definitely do the wine pairings!) and both my mom and I wore sleeveless dresses. We didn't have wraps with us and I found the temperature to be fine - not as cold as some of the other Disney restaurants. If the wrap compliments your outfit, go for it, but if you are thinking about bringing one just for the cold factor, I don't think you'll have to worry about it.

Enjoy!

I wore a strapless dress last September. It was very hot outside. I'm always freezing in restaurants. I was OK. But the hostess must have seen I looked a little chilly--at the very beginning of our meal--and told me to just give her a wave if I was cold and she would bring me a cashmere pashima:thumbsup2 . I knew I would be OK once we settled in but boy was I tempted. Since we did the wine pairings, I was warm in no time:rolleyes1

Another note: Wine pairing was great for DH but a waste for me. I really don't like a large variety of wine so I didn't drink a few. I won't do it again.
