we returned to Spoodles 9/3. We really enjoyed the place last year and even though the menu changed , wanted to visit again.
DH had a greek salad and the rigatoni dish with iced tea, and I had the Shrimp Linguine with Iced tea.

Our server, who was really great, gave us a celabration cupcake for our anniversary. The food portions were large and delicious, so we were too full for dessert.

Once again, this place gets and A for food, service and value.:goodvibes

Another ADR we have for this upcoming trip...you are getting me really excited! Only 7 more days till our eating adventure start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were there on 9/5, it was my husband's favorite dining experience of the week. I have to say Le Cellier was my favorite but Spoodles was good. We were full after appetizers! The one criticism was that they put ice in the Sangria. When paying almost $20 a pitcher for the stuff, don't water it down w/ ice!!!!

We fell in love with Spoodles on our last trip and can't wait to go back and try the new menu!!!!

I ate at Spoodles on 9/3 and my experience was not as good. Dan was my server and he was excellent! Food was so-so. My experience has found Spoodles lacking in food preparation. The Calamari appetizer missed the beat with soupy relish that appeared to be out of a can (think they called it pepperocini "sp") The Red Snapper w/couscous was okay - fish prepared okay but sides - wilted spinach and couscous lacked flavor - just not prepared well. The chocolate/orange cake was the best part of the meal - excellent! I was staying at Boardwalk and it was convenient to eat at Spoodles but I wont eat there again for a long time.

I was there in July and do not feel the same. The waitress was terrible. The app's were good but the food was disgusting. One member of our party got sick from the pasta. We will never go back.

Glad you had a great time.

The food was disgusting or was it just not the type of food you expected? It's definitely geared for a more adventurous crowd and not a "meat and potatoes" crowd.

How was the shrimp for dinner. We will be there next week and that was what I was thinking of ordering. Any comments on the dinner would be appreciated. Last time we went in January, Spoodles was my absolute favorite dinner of the whole trip!

It was disgusting. I live in NYC and eat in Greek, Ethiopian and every other kind of restaurant so the food was just really bad. My friend literally got sick from the pasta. just not a good meal.

I just posted this at another board. Here is our experience.

DH & I ate @Spoodles w/Disney Dining Plan in late September "07.

It was crowded & it was very noisy. There was constant flow of wait staff by our table. Several people bumped into DH's chair:eek: .
DH had linguini and said it was bland and boring. I had cornish hen w/roasted vegetables. It was a very large serving and I could not have eaten it all. Lucky for me--the meat was bloody next to the bone . I didn't inform our waiter, just ate veggies and we got our dessert to go.

Everyone has different taste buds--we won't return to Spoodles.

We had eaten at Spoodles before and really enjoyed it so we were looking forward to going there again this September.

We were seated right away (not a good sign?) and our waiter was a friendly guy. They had just changed the menu and I was not pleased as there was nothing much I was interested in but we were there so we were sort of stuck.

I ordered the pita with dips that had been a hit last visit and they did not disappoint this trip either. The bread seemed to have been freshly made. I could have made my entire meal from this and did, in fact, end up doing so.

The only new menu item that even halfway interested me was the Rigatoni with sausage. I swear folks, I checked every inch of that plate, even the interiors of the pasta, and could not find nary hide nor hair (luckily neither of those either) of any sort of protein. There were some small speaks that I assumed were pepper but they MIGHT have been sausage. I did find two, tiny, bits of tomatoes at the bottom of the pile.

If I had had to pay $20 of MY money for this fifty cents worth of pasta I would have been one ticked off woman.

Everyone complains about the service on the Free Dining but my experience is that the food quality is what is deteriorating. A few exceptions but not many.

I do not mind paying for quality but not for lack thereof.

Quote the raven, nevermore! At least on MY dime.

Hello Slightly Goofy--I have been looking for you & here you are :yay: AND you posted much better review than I did of Spoodles. I totally agree. I would have sent my meal back if I'd paid for it.

OK, you met me @MK--it was early in our vacation, maybe Sept 22. It was by restrooms, LOL. I pointed out your Mickey color sample & went right over to say hello to a DISer. There is not a shy bone in my body. I still have your paint sample.

DH took a pic of us & it is very nice. You invited me to DIS meeting that evening, but I told you we just got there & had ressies. Remember me?

Sorry to get off chat...just want to say HEY to you. I am already looking into a return trip, maybe in early February, but not for 11 days this time. Maybe 5-6 or 6-7...LOL. Will probably stay POP, though we loved POR!!!. Need to economize & find out what is best week to attend crowd wise.

Slightly Goofy---Are parks busy/crowded when you will be there is December? I'd love to see holiday lights & decorations!!

Have a good day. :thumbsup2

Howdy bamabala, yep, I do remember you! You were very sweet and not at all shy. Hopefully I was not feeling really badly that particular day so that I made a good impression. If I am sweating like crazy and my eyes are headed toward my forehead it is a sure sign that all is NOT well!! It was toward the end of our tour. Gotta love them lime green Mickey's. No one but a diehard DIS board member would be wearing them and I have added several new ones to my purse since so many folks gifted me with various incarnations. :thumbsup2

I am honored that you kept my LGM. However since I am old and running out of storage space (in spite of the fact that I live in an 18 room house) I am scanning in all my memorabilia and then putting it all on dvd's. Friends, do not take it personally as I am doing or have done the same thing to all my kid's baby pictures as well.

You missed out on a great party that night. We stayed until after 1 am and did not want to leave then either. Such a fantastic group of folks! Maybe you can join another meet on one of your upcoming trips? I highly reccomend it. You can greatly increase your DIS meet count by dozens that way. The only hard part is remembering everyone's name. :woohoo:

POP food court is pretty nice although they do not have Muffalettas, beignets or the New Orleans charm. Maybe you will get to try out all the resorts in your lifetime. You have plenty of time.

Yes, it is very uncrowded at the time we are planning on returning. It is my favorite time to go as it is cool weather, uncrowded, I can usually get good rates on rooms and we get to enjoy all the decorations. My only worry is if bad weather sets in but we can always try to book in for a few more days. If there is a big snowstorm and there are a lot of cancellations we could just stay for Christmas but the grandkids would not like that, and neither would I. :rotfl:

It is so nice to 'see' you once again and know that you will live on forever in my photo file "DIS Friends"!

Until we meet in person again, Slightly Goofy/Linda

Hi Mrs. Disney Ron :wave2:

I just noticed that you were from RI....so am I!! Just wanted to say hello and see how you enjoyed Spoodles. My BF and I are going for our 1st Disney Christmas trip 11/30-12/7 :santa: and one of our ADR's is for Spoodles....can't wait! I'm counting the days! :yay: :dance3: :yay:

Spoodles food was very good, but you better hope you don't get the waitress named Sandy (older lady, brown hair with glasses). She is very unprofessional, rude, and sarcastic. If you want the whole story, see my post on the Disney Dining Plan section.

She was absolutely horrible!
