Going to Disney in December and we made reservations for the Clam Bake at Disney's Beach Club. Just want to know everyone's thought??? :confused3

Every time we book a place to eat in Disney this is where I come to find out if DH, DD and myself will enjoy it.

Thanks :goodvibes

Dh and I love this place and make sure to go on every trip, we are headed back there next month. Now I do not do the clam and mussels but I eat just about every thing else, the food is always very good. They no longer serve lobster or crab legs for an extra price. Here is what I remember them having on the buffet:

Steamed little necks and mussels in taragon herb butter or plain drawn butter
Clam Chowder
Tomato Bisque
Corn on the Cob
Boiled red skin potatoes
Corn bread
Assorted breads and rolls
Salmon in Feb and fried talapia in April
Mini hot dogs
Chicken fingers
French Fries
Carved beef
Mac and Cheese
BBQ ribs
Roasted Chicken pieces
Sausage with peppers and onions
Mashed garlic potatoes
Beef with mushrooms in a rich brown sauce
Fresh String beans with carrots
Broccolini
Baked ziti
Peel and eat shrimp
Caesar salad
Regular salad with all the fixings
Marinated mushrooms
Tomato Salad
Cuke salad
Potato Salad
Cole Slaw
Ambrosia
Fresh fruit, many different types

DESSERT
Oreo Bon Bons, flan, mini cheesecakes, german chocolate cake, tollhouse cookies, peanut butter and chocolate brownies, blondies, sugar cookies, some type of strawberry jello with whipped cream concoction, apple crisp and key lime tarts

WOW!!! The menu did not list all that stuff, see this is why I ask all the food questions here. DH always wants me to check the DIS board to see what people think. Thanks

We ate here in May for the first time and we all LOVED it. We booked it for our trip in November. It will be a MUST for all trips in the future. For DS8 and myself we loved the clams but DS11 didn't but he loved everything else on the buffet. Would definitely recommend it.

DH and I went a few years ago and did not care for it much. It sounds much better now and I'm rethinking going there again .
I will say I loved the atmosphere!!!
Also I think our expectations were too high. My DH is from Maine and his expectations of what would be there etc.... were not very realistic for Fla.

We were there ten days ago and enjoyed our dinner very much. My DH and DS both loved the ribs.

We actually just got back to our room from eating there....and we loved it! I am a picky eater and there was plenty of choices, my husband loved the clam bake. Don't forget to get an oreo bon bon.

Thanks for the great reviews. We are eating there our first night. I can't wait!:cool1:

We ate there our last visit and had a wonderful meal..

Hopefully Chef Anthony will check in here and see the nice reviews his restaurant got...

We also love the Clambake. My husband is not a big seafood fan either but he loves the ribs and the cornbread! It's definitely a favorite of ours!

Just curious...what do my fellow New Englanders think about the Clam Bake? :wave2: Amy in RI

I am from Boston, just a short drive to Gloucester, Essex and Ipswich...while that is the best seafood you can get we still enjoy this place! DH actually prefers the clams here than in Boston, he is not a fan of the "pisser" clams

We ate there in August and really did not like it. I thought for sure I would love it but it was all just so-so to me. I won't be going back.

Have eaten there a number of times and really enjoyed our meals. There was enough choices for everyone in our party (adults and kids).

How are the clams prepared/served at the Beach Club?

They are steamed in tarragon garlic herb butter or steamed plain with drawn butter on the side. DH is from NJ/PA and he likes littlenecks the best! He can eat a bushel of them
