Health Department Ratings for WDW Restaurants

Does anyone know if there are ratings for the restaurants at WDW? I had heard some comments that concerned me about several of the dining spots and would like some "official" information. Thanks!

I've heard that some of their restaurants have mice in them.

And I've heard recent reports of rats on property.

I have done a search on search on some of the restaurants and both Garden Grill and Liberty Tree Tavern have been marked for insects/rodents. Please tell me they are talking about Minnie and Mickey???

I don't know their names, but they're allowed to move around among freely the diners, and even end up at the table!

I am afraid that inspectors do not have that much of a sense of humor and marked them because the insects/rodents were not the Mickey and Minnie we get to see, but since I am eating at both of these this month, I am going to fool myself into thinking they are.

I suspect we wouldn't really want to know what goes on at many of the restaurants we enjoy...at WDW and in our home towns.

How about the "Loathsome Vermin Character Dinner" with Mickey, Minnie, Remy, Emile and Flik the ant?

If any WDW restaurant was in major violation, you can be certain they would be jumped on with both feet by the local Health department (and the Orlando newspapers).
The sort of "violations" here are not uncommon in many Florida restaurants. Not to mention where you and I live---

1) Health inspectors do not have a sense of humor.
2) The reports they file are accurate for their observations.
3) I can tell you from actual experience that sometimes kitchens get sloppy.
4) This is strictly in the realm of the chef and manager responsibilities.

NOTE: I can remember walking "flat footed" across the kitchen at Artist Point due to a fear of sliding and then falling on the greasy floor. I have seen organized "skating" contests among CM's in the kitchen at Turf Club. Not everything behind the scenes are as neat and clean as one would casually think.

For a fabulous yarn about what goes on in the back of fancy restaurants, read George Orwell's Paris section of "Down and Out in Paris and London." Hilarious and totally gross!

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll put that on my list. :)

. . . what goes on in the back of fancy restaurants, read George Orwell's Paris section of "Down and Out in Paris and London." . . .

. . . Read Upton Sinclair's "The Jungle". Its about the meat packing industry . . .

1) I have read both.
2) Now, I don't know where or what to eat.

Okay, I really should've contained my curiosity and NOT clicked that link. Ugh.

We've actually seen a donkey, a pig, a bear and a tigger come right up to our table while we were eating! :scared1: Our children even got right out of their seats.:)

But seriously! Disney really runs a tight first class ship in all that they do.. I am sure that there may be some minor exceptions, but you would really be surprised with what goes on in most all kitchens in restaurants outside of the World.:)

For those with any concerns, the V&A kitchen is immaculate -- we've observed it numerous times while dining at the chef's table!

Oops, spoke too soon. Looks like even V&A has had violations. Oh well.
