We just returned today from four days at Pop Century with Free Dining. All I can say is - WOW! We ate our way through WDW that's for sure. This was our first time using the Dining Plan and we LOVED IT. The fact that it was free - was fantastic.

We had TS meals at Cape May, Chefs de France, Crystal Palace, Boma (me and DH) and Nine Dragons (DS and DS's girlfriend). We enjoyed all of our meals. We thought the Free Dining was fantastic. We arrived at Pop on Tuesday about 8:00 p.m. and by Thursday afternoon, I had only spent $2. Can you imagine? We didn't spend much money at all on this trip.

If anyone has any questions, I would be glad to answer (if I can).

Hello! Great to read some postitive posts! We will be going to Nine Dragons for the first time-how was it? This is our first time with free dining and second time with POP!! How were the crowds dining/parks? WE LEAVE IN 14 DAYS!:cool1: Thanks,Cristy

My son and his girlfriend enjoyed their dinner at Nine Dragons. They were there last night at 9:00 (it's the only ADR we could get for them at the last minute) and they said everything was good. He didn't really elaborate, but it's safe to say the food was good.

The crowds in the parks were very manageable. We didn't stand in any lines longer than 10 minutes. We ate our counter service meals early to avoid the lunch crowds and had a very good experience. We got about $800 worth of food for the four of us. It was big fun!

Have fun!

How was Chefs de france? That's the only one I've been worried about. Glad you had so much fun!

We ate at Chefs De France last year and I thought it was good, but if our experience is any indication, get ready for a two hour meal! It took a looooonnnnngggggg time. I wonder if that is par for the course in France?

I've eaten at Nine Dragons a couple of times.....the service and the food have always been good!

Yes looking for reviews on Chefs de France, and if you wouldn't mind elaborating a little on what you had for dinner there, lol.

Thanks!

PS, YES FD is the Bomb Diggity, did it last year and again in 3 weeks :cheer2: We've also paid for it before and thought it was worth every penny, but don't believe we will with all the changes, we'll just cut down on the TS meals.

Chefs deFrance was our favorite meal of the trip. We've eaten there twice before, so we were looking forward to it.

DH and DS both had lobster bisque and beef short ribs served with polenta - excellent!

DSGF and I both had the tomato and goat cheese flatbread for our appetizer and the frenched pork chop with mushroom demi glace. It was served with macaronis gratin (mac & cheese). It was really delicious.

For Dessert:

DH had a crepe filled with apples and served with vanilla ice cream.

DSGF had creme brulee.

DS and I both had profiterolles au chocolat.

Everything was delicious and service was very good. Our server was quite efficient.

We enjoyed this meal very much and it would have cost us big bucks if we had to pay for it.

how did you get free dining?

Free Dining was a promotion that Disney offered to the general public in the spring. The promotion had to be booked by June 24th for travel between
August 26th and September 22nd. It required a minimum three night stay and the purchase of at least a one day MYW base ticket for each member of your party.

This is the third year that Disney has offered free dining in August/September.

This was our first time taking advantage of this offer and we LOVED it!

ME and DW are headed to POP Sept 21-30 also with free dining. Couldn't wait before and with a review like this we can't wait even more. From now to the 21st is going to see like forever.

We had this flyer in our room on Friday. Unfortunately, since the promotion starts later next year (August 30, 2008) there isn't enough time to go before school (college) starts the day after Labor Day. My DH and I thought about taking a trip just the two of us in September, 2008, but weren't sure, so we passed on the offer.

I'm torn between the pork chop and the ribs. Please help. I think the chop is a safe bet, as I've never met one I didn't like. As for the ribs, were they tender enough to cut from the bone? Because I don't picture CdF as a "pick up the ribs and eat them with your hands" type of place. :lmao:

Could you fill in the blanks?

Thanks!

Hi, I can't wait for my FD for my 14 day stay in a little over 2 weeks!!!

I'm really excited to eat at France now. =]

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED FREE DINING!!!!!
The kids and I tried new things. We had great food. We had a great time. The only money I spent on food was a refill mug, a glass of wine and one princess punch for 3 people for 7 days. (i did bring down poptarts and bagels for breakfast.)
