DDP: dumb newbie question

This is our first time using the DDP. I swear I read somewhere, but now I can't find it, that you are supposed to tell your server (both TS and CS) when ordering that you will be using the dining plan. Is this true? What happens if you forget?

no punishments!! The reason you let them know you are on DDP is so they can properly process your credits and can also explain what you are entitled to at any given location. We were always asked at TS's & the waitstaff always treated us well (no "lack of service" due to DDP that I encountered). DH LOVED saying we were on DDP esp. when people around him were pulling out big bucks for what we got FREE!!! A year later, he still talks about it!! Have a great vacation!!!

We just got back a week ago. Most of the time, we told the servers we were on the DP. This was our second year on the plan, and it really is wonderful. Last year, we forgot to tell our servers once or twice; and the servers just asked if we were on any plan. This year, we totally forgot at one TS, and the server forgot to ask as well. The bill was brought, and I just handed him the card, apologizing for not mentioning it b4hand. He was absolutely fine with it.

If I am 7 nights 8 days how many how many CS do I have and how many Snacks etc ???? Can someone break this down for me?

The DDP is based on nights so you will be getting 7 of each type of credit for each person in your party.

As Castleri said, 7 of everything; you can use them whenever you want. For example, if you want to eat at a 2-TS credit (signature) restaurant, you may want to eat 2 CS meals one day & save the TS for the other day, etc. It doesn't matter when you use them. If there are 4 (for example) in your party and you're staying 7 nights, you'll have a total of 28 of each credit: 28 TS, 28 CS, and 28 snacks.
