We just got back a few days ago from our 8 nights at Sports. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have!

I will be there in early october for the first time. I will be going with my sister. Any suggestions on where to request a room? Dont care much about views, but we would like to be as close as possible to food and bus stop. Also how early does first bus leave? I wanted to make a 8.10 ADR for Donald's Breakfast and was wondering if I'd make it. Also how long does the bus service take?

Thanks!

We have stayed there twice. Our favorite room, and the best for the buses was in building ten, the wing that sticks out and points to the street. We would walk down the stairs and walk on the sidewalk outside of the resort to get to the buses. It was really quick. The other time we stayed there we were also in building 10 and very close to the buses. We were one of the closest doors to Stadium Hall. I didn't like it as much because we were on the first floor and EVERYONE walked right by our door to get to the food and buses.

On the map I got from the resort, they show the bus stop as being in the middle of the front of the resorts, but both times I stayed there they picked up closer to building 10.

How does it compare to pop?
Curious?
Chad

We stayed at Pop last trip and I think I prefer it overall, although Sports was fine. We had to make stops at the other All Stars twice to pick up more passengers (not too bad for 1 week, but I missed a rope drop ceremony because of it:(
I also prefer the food court at Pop. It seems as if they worked out the kinks at the original All Stars and then built Pop. Finally, my son loved the pop up sprinklers outside of the 60's building of Pop, and they weren't available at Sports.
Our room was newly refinished (9204, Homerun) and they were just doing the football buildings as well.
The walk wasn't too bad to the buses...we cut behind the football building (#10) and walked along the sidewalk to the buses.
HAve a great trip!

Are they remodeling the food court? If so, do they have icees on the beverage station?
There are no icees at the beverage station...Pop does have it though. I can't say whether they were redone yet or not. There were 4 seperate areas to purchase food...all items were delicious!

I agree that the footbal building 10 has an easy access to the food court if you are on the right end...not too sure of the numbers. The Surf's Up wings are the Prefered, though. We requested baseball and were put in basketball. I called to have it changed the day of our trip and was told that it wasn't possible unti lI checked in and even then my chances weren't too good. I called again to speak to a manager and she was extremely helpful and she called back to say I had the room we requested. Bus service was excellent, as long as the buses did not stop at the other All Stars along the way (this happened only twice in 1 week and only on the way to the parks). You are very close to AK, so if it is an early morning EMH, you will be fine. otherwise, I know that you can get there somehow, it just takes more work on your part if the buses are not running to the park at that time. I think...and I will be corrected by those who know more than me...that the buses begin running 1 hour before park opening? Just check the schedule first. MK is the farthest away, but we were always there within 10 minutes. HAve fun!

Does anybody know when they will be through remodeling at Sports and what buildings are done thus far? I had POP booked for my Dec trip, but when the codes came out had to switch to AS Sports.

They were working on the football rooms while we were there and had already had guests staying in them when we left. Baseball is done or being finished. Other posts claim that basketball and surf's up have not been done at all. Our basball room (9204) still smelled new! Be sure to follow up well if you want a room, including the day of check-in!
