On the alamo site it said there is a self serve kiosk at MCO. Has anyone tried it?? Is there only one?? I wonder how long those lines will be??:confused3
Thanks:surfweb:

I have read here that some have used and all seemed to think it was very easy and good. I can't find the threads, no search working.

I've used the Alamo check-in kiosks at other airports but not at MCO. You should have your reservaton number ready to input. It takes about 5 minutes to go through all the screens. Some things you may have already declined in your profile (like insurance) are asked again in case you change your mind. Be careful to continue to decline insurance, a navigation system, extra drivers, etc.

At Fort Lauderdale and Baltimore it printed me my documents and sent me out to the garage to pick whatever vehicle I wanted from my rental category (class). At Buffalo and Pensacola I still had to give the rep behind the counter my name and they verified the documents and gave me my car keys. I guess that's the difference between large and small airports; I'm sure here in Orlando you'll get your docs and head out to the garage to pick your car.

PS-At larger airports there are numerous kiosks, not just one, so no waiting. I think you DO need to be a member of their frequent renter program to use them.

I haven't use the self-serve kiosk, BUT, I used Alamo's online check-in a week ago, and it worked like a dream. Bypass the counter and the kiosk and go right to the aisle with your reserved car class. Pick out your car, present your driver's license at the window, and go.

Like the kiosk however, I don't think you can use coupons with on-line check-in, for that you have to go to the counter regardless.

it cost me $0.49 more to be able to not have a coupon and check in online and get a good rate.

I had the BJ's wholesale Warehouse discount and coupon but changed it to AMEX card discount with no coupon ( the difference being 49 cents more )

I printed out all my documents already for the middle of next week and it states right on them to go directly to car and pick out my vehicle.

We used the self-serve kiosk in May and the first thing we noticed was very few people were taking advantage of it. We were glad we used it as we had our rental agreement in a few short minutes while others were still waiting in a long line. We were off to the parking garage to pick up our rental within 5 minutes (if that) of arriving at the Alamo counter.

I used it May. It was very straight forward. No problems. I had our paperwork in less than five minutes. It beat standing in a very long line. Will use it again next may.

I used it in MCO with no problems. I had a coupon and still was able to use it.
I gave them everything in the parking garage after I picked out the car with no trouble. Returned after 14 days and was charged the exact amount I booked for. I think it is great. Saved a lot of time, since I was traveling with the kids alone it really helped.

I think there may be some confusion between on-line check-in and pre-pay. If you pre-pay, then I believe you can't use a coupon. That sounds like what you did. If you use on-line check-in, you can use a coupon. I've done so.

Also, even though I did on-line check-in, I still went to the self-serve kiosk to print my rental agreement before going to select my car. Could I have skipped the kiosk at the airport?

mareed , yuhp thats what I did.

I gave up the coupon rate for the prepay rate which cost me 49 cents, and now I don't have to worry about the coupon and am all set with check in and with my paperwork.

How do you add and additional driver if you are using the kiosk?? Can you???:surfweb:

Double checked the Alamo website and this is what it said about the extra driver:

Other cool kiosk stuff you can do.
- Review your rental info.
- Upgrade to a larger car.
- Add other drivers.
- Purchase other items like prepaid gas, Collision Damage Waiver and GPS units
.

I just used the kiosk on Aug.4 with a Costco code and coupon. We did not accept additional driver on the screen because you would have to pay $10 extra per day. Declined everything else, and printed up the slip in less than 5 minutes. Picked up a midsize car(Malibu:) ) from the marked aisle and drove to the checkout gate. Told the cashier about extra driver being free under Costco and she enter my driver's license into the system. Didn't ask for the coupon or get charged for extra driver. We are Q uicksiver members. We will definitely use Alamo again at MCO.

I'm like snowbunny--last trip we used online checkin and bypassed the counter AND the kiosk.

I tried doing online checkin for my ressie and it wouldnt let me.
I'm assuming it's because I have a coupon. It just kept telling me this reservation was not available for use with online checkin....

Yes you can't use online check-in with a coupon, but you should be able to use the Kiosk.

I'm pretty sure I used online check-in with a coupon in May. I was using a code that included an additional driver for free as well as a $20 coupon. I checked in online and added the additional driver info online too at that time.

yet we weren't able to use the online check-in with our coupon but were able to use the kiosk :confused3
