Question about the Dining Plan

we have already booked out vacation for this weekend, but after reading on here, the dining plan seems like the way to go, as I didn't know what it was when I booked us, I didn't add it. Does anyone now if I can add it know and how much it would cost, it would be for 2 adults and a 4 year old and a 2 year old, for 2 days?

(38 + 38 + 11)*2 - your two year old will be free. You may want to check and ensure you can get ADR's beforehand. I *think* you can add it on as late as check-in - can someone verify that?

You must book it 3 days before check-in

So I have room only right now, but I can add Dining Plan and tickets up to 3 days before we go?

I don't like to book a package too far in advance because of situations that would be beyond our control. Hurricanes, death in family, sickness of parties going, DS-in-law being deployed by the Army. 5 days out we would possibly know about some of these things so we could cancel with no repercussions. I would like to wait till then to add the options. We are also looking at MNSSHP tickets but since they are non-refundable the same goes for them. If we wait to get them and they are all gone.......oh, well!

Just hoping everything goes along the way it is and we will be able to make this trip. This will be DD's 2nd trip and her DH's 1st.:goodvibes

The rules for the Disney Dining Plan are as follows:

It can only be booked as part of a Magic Your Way Package, including room, and "at least" a one-day MYW ticket per person.

Everyone in your room must be on the same package.

It cannot be added to a room-only reservation. You would have to cancel your room-only ressie and book a MYW package. (You may lose your room all together, depending on when you go and what resort you are staying at.

You have up until 3 day prior to check-in to change your existing Magic Your Package to a Magic Your Way Package w/Dining. (not sure if 3-days is enough time to cancel/change room-only to dining package.)

I would definitely put a very flexible list together of where you would like to eat and call right away to see if there is any availability before adding the dining plan. Have a wonderful adventure!!:upsidedow
