Hotel close to Disney for under $60???

We'd like to go to Disneyland this year, but because we'd have to rent a car and fly, we'd need a cheap hotel. Is there anything near Disneyland that is CLEAN, well kept and walking distance to the parks for for around or under $60 a night? Thanks!

I got what I would say is a great deal at Del Sol Inn, where I got a nightly rate of about $63, for next week. But the only reason I was able to get that rate is because I'm buying a package from them, which only adds on the park tickets at regular price. Check their website, under special offers. From what I've heard here in Disboards it's a pretty decent hotel and it's pretty close to the parks.

I have seen super 8 on Hotwire for $39. The other day I saw Desert Inn for
$59 on their website not hotwire. Guess if you really try you can.

I don't know how this place is, but on another board several people said it was fine for the price and location. Not sure if it's walking distance or not.

hotwire and priceline. I had the marriott one night for 50 bucks, the one across from the hilton. I normally get the hilton for about 60 a night. . . I'm a hotel snob, I'll be the first to admit this, so those two sites have been awesome for me so far.

Hotwire & Priceline are fine for 2 people but it should be noted that they do not guarantee room types, so it's not a good choice for families or groups with more than 2 people traveling unless thay want to book 2 rooms or pay for a roll away if they get stuck in a King room.

I have always been able to get two beds with priceline. I call hotel directly and confirm that I need two beds.

There is a rodeway on ball, stardust anaheim, best western maingate( i think) that are really close. You walk thru Mickey parking garage and take the tram from there. HTH

Don't forget the $54 "poolside view" rate at HOJO with the Entertainment Card. If you don't have an Entertainment coupon book, you can pick one up on Ebay for pretty cheap Use code SD50 and check www.hojoanaheim.com to see if they have that rate for the dates you are going to be traveling.

Depending on when you're going, you get usually get a room at the Carousel Inn and Suites for between $60-70 a night. My DD and I got it for $57/night about 3 years ago. It's right across the street from the entrance.

I think the same goes for the Camelot and the Tropicana, although I haven't stayed at either of these.

We've stayed at the Anaheim Plaza for under $60. It's pretty roomy, clean and within walking distance. And kids eat free in their restaurant.

We have stayed at Carousel Inn twice during the last year and both were off season times. I check their prices constantly and the lowest that I have seen is $89/night which is what we paid. It appears that they have increased in the past 3 years.

We've gotten hojo's for the $54 rate. We've also had park vue inn for $50 something a night as well. We've never done it, but others hadve posted priceline hotels for relatively few $$$.

Calling the hotel directly, ask for "in house" reservations desk and ask for the Entertainment rate is the best way to get the lowest rate. The rooms that are not preium view are a bit cheaper.. it all depends on what time you go (how busy it is and the amount of reservations they have already). Off season being the best for the lowest rate.


A handy thing to download to check multiple rates for hotels is travel axe pro (or you can use travel axe within a web browser).

i have used both hotwire, where you can only put up to four in their system, and priceline. when I used priceline I called them about the fact I was unable to put how many, they put it in my reservations, I then called the hotel, explained my issue and they were more than happy to accommodate me. I've yet to run into a problem.

the last time i stayed at the hilton the guy was so nice at the counter I explained I would love to have a, crud what is the extra bed called, blonde moment here. . . anyways, it was going to be like 50 a night or some high price like that and I said, oooh, never mind. . . he had the bed brought up at no charge. .. I've been truly blessed with my stays so far, knock on wood.

I'm curious as to what months/days your reservations are for. I just tried to add on 2 extra days to ours (by phone) and they said they were entirely sold out for Wed. Dec. 5th....not just the ent. rate but no rooms available at all! Does anybody know why this might be?

If you just tried NOW, you're not talking to the in-house people. Call during business hours, call the direct line, ask for in-house. Make sure they are truly in-house (I was once shunted over to the 800# and she kind of lied to me about it at first). Only those folks can do that amazing discount.

But that SD50 rate going through the website worked very well, and it sounds like it's equal to calling in-house during business hours. They are probably tired of all the Disers bugging them all the time!

I called earlier today and it was in-house reservations that I spoke to. I was able to add on one of my two days that I wanted (at the entertainment rate), but they said they had no rooms available at all for my second day (Wed. Dec. 5th) not even if I paid the regular rate. I also wanted to change my $69/night park view room to the $54 pool view rate, but they said those rates were entirely booked for the time frame that I wanted. I'm just trying to figure out why Tuesday, Dec. 4th was available, but not Wed. Dec. 5th. It seemed odd to me, unless there is something going on that day that I don't know about. After reading your post, I just tried to check the same date (the one they said wasn't available at all ) on their on-line site and DID find regular rates (but no entertainment rates) . .....Just trying to figure out why the in-house ressies had no rooms available on that day??? I can understand if the ent. rates are sold out, but no rooms at all? Are there different rooms available on-line vs. calling the hotel directly?

I just noticed that they didn't have the park view room available on that day (on the on-line site)....only the standard view rooms, so maybe that is why she said no rooms were available. The other dates for our ressie are for a park view room. Oh well.....
