Coronado Springs Resort Report Aug 2007 w/PICS!

I was thinking about changing my November ressie at CSR to a deluxe if some good AP rates come out, but after reading your review, I think I will stay put. We've stayed there several times and I always forget how beautiful it is!

you have one of those "cute" little babies too huh?!!!!!

just admiring your little sweetheart puppy there...and laughing at your comment b/c I can relate!!!Mine is almost 5 months old!

thank you for sharing your pics, sure looks nice there. 22 more days for us!
How was your walk to the Pepper Market from where you stayed?

thanks for the great review!! I totally agree that those Casitas are very beautiful! Do you have a picture of the inside of the rooms??

There was another outdoor eating section that was, perhaps part of a restaurant. I didn't get any pics of it, but it had lots of well made rataan style tables and chairs.
Was this part of the new Laguna Lounge that was created because Francisco's is under rehab? Was there a bar outside?

Wow! Excellent review! We stayed at CSR in May 1998, and we are going back ten years later (almost) in April. Can't wait for April to get here!

From our first room in Cabanas 8A, the walk to PM was not bad at all. A few minutes is all it seemed like. We wheeled our luggage to the lobby from Cabanas 8A with no problem.

From Casitas 3, the walk to PM was very close. We were probably there within two minutes. This was a very convenient location.

There is a lakeside bar near the man playing the steel drums. I didn't catch the name of it. Since I was with DGS, I didn't pay much attention to the bars, but did notice groups congregating there at night.

UPDATE! Edited to add that I looked through my photos and zoomed in on a couple that were taken from across the lake showing the outdoor bar I mention above. Is this the outdoor bar you are looking for, Buzz?

There is another area with rataan tables and chairs. Actually, it just seemed like they lined the walking path with these heavy tables and chairs. There was a man at a booth that took care of folks at these tables. :)

34 Days and counting for us!! It's great to see pics taken so close to our trip. Makes me feel more comfortable that it will be all that we're hoping for!!

And I'm really pleased that the two conventions didn't interfere with anything. We've put soooooo much thought into this whole trip, from the resort choice to flights to ADRs....on an on....

Why do I love planning so much???????

The first convention was small. The second...I haven't really seen anything from anyone who's been at Coronado during the Gospel Music convention. (I think I read OP was there before the event start day- Monday.) As it was explained to me, the attendees are spread out over 4 hotels, but will be using Disney transport to arrive at Coronado. All their events are at Coronado. Their expected attendee number is 14,000- 15,000. Kind of cool-they have a 4,000 voice choir that will be rehearsing/performing.

....Info from one of their organizers...sitting at the fountain at CSR, Sat.

You are right. I did not realize the gospel convention events had not started yet during my stay. Judging from the amount of attendees flooding into CSR just checking in for this convention, I will be anxious to hear from others on what sort of impact this had on the resort. If those staying at other resorts will be using Disney transportation, the sheet numbers alone would have to affect the wonderful bus service we experienced.

Wow, those are some great photos! We stayed in cabanas last year but i might have to request the Casitas this november! Thank you for taking the time to give such a detailed review! :thumbsup2

GREAT report! I am looking forward to our visit next month.

Any pictures of the room(s) that you had? Thanks!

I love your review and photos. What kind of camera do you have? I love the way your nighttime shots turned out and I'm in the market for a better "nighttime" camera.

Yes, thanks! This is the first time I've seen it.

wow! love your review and pictures...but OMG I can't believe how expensive the food in the pepper market is...I was always under the impression that it was similar in price to the other Moderate food courts, but it's a lot more...we tend to eat breakfast at our resort each morning and those prices could keep me from wanting to stay there....
it is a beautiful resort though.

Hi, Thanks! I just bought this camera. It is a new model Kodak EasyShare 7.1-Megapixel Digital Camera - Model: Z712IS. 12x optical/4.2x digital/50x total zoom

I paid 249.00 for it, but it is on sale at Best Buy for 219.00. I really like it. It is a bit bulkier, not slim and sleek. I like something to hold on to, but I could see how folks would want something small to take to the parks. I bought a camera case for it though and loved having this nice camera with me. This camera also has video capability.

Anyone buying this camera will have to order a battery charger online (from Kodak) and if you would like an AC adapter, that will have to be ordered online (from Kodak) as well. Best Buy/Circuit City has the batteries, but not the chargers and AC adapter. I was really happy with the way it zoomed in across the lake. :) I have not figured out all the settings. I am sure once I do, I will be able to take better nighttime photos. tink
