What can you tell me about Innoventions at Disneyland? I would like to know what to expect when I go in November.

It's nicely air conditioned when it is hot outside, and it is dry when it's raining outside. :rolleyes1

We've done it once and found it quite boring. Got tired of Tom Morrow after a couple minutes. I understand there is a place to talk with Stitch on the top floor and I think ASIMO is still up there??

if your kids love video games, then its a place for you to go while you play in the health and travel section...

Stitch exhibit was closed last week... :'(

I found it to be pretty boring, too. I'm thinking of checking it out again this October or December, but it's on my list of things that can be missed without me caring one bit.

The ASIMO show in Innoventions is one of the best "unheralded attractions" at Disneyland, imo.

For those who don't know, ASIMO stands for Advanced Step in Innovation MObility, and is a little humanoid robot created by Honda. The short show features him interacting with a human host, and demonstrates his ability to walk, dance, kick a soccer ball, etc. And, according to the ASIMO website, the brand new, "running" version of ASIMO should be at DL now. (I will have to check it out when I am there in a few more weeks.)

ASIMO really shows the "magic" of technology. If you do nothing else in Innoventions, I recommend seeing this show. Just ask a Cast Member outside what the show times are. You don't even need to get there early; I've never had any trouble just walking in a few minutes before it starts.

Not for good, I hope? We missed it on our last trip, and were so looking forward to seeing it in Oct.

I recommend NOT going to Innoventions at the end of the day. There's lots to see and do, especially if you like computers and/or videogames. Go when you're fresh, or at least when your brain hasn't turned to mush.

We were exhausted near the end of the day, but determined to go anyway. I just wanted to find someplace to sit, DH and DS6 wanted to play on all the computers, and DS2 was over-stimulated and wanted to escape, run and have somebody chase him. We actually lost him at one point; it probably was only for 5 minutes, but it seemed like forever at the time. Once we found him again, I was in tears and emotionally and physically spent, DH was exhausted and livid, and the kids were still up in the stratosphere (which is not a happy combination of moods.)

Is there a way to get into the building without going through the demo? It seemed to take forever, and a lot of the home technology shown was stuff already on the market. Would love to just skip that part next time!

Thanks everyone.

I guess that I’ll go if I find the time but I will not make it a priority. I’ve been disappointed in Disney’s apparent lack of interest in Inventions at EPCOT at WDW and the Disneyland website makes theirs look awesome (of course) so I was hoping that they had some pretty cool stuff in there.

This is the only reason I would go in. I havent seen it. My DSS(13) says, we could go check out some vintage Nintendo systems and HUGE cellphones. Hes a cleaver donkey.

If you're a techie freak like me who loves gadgets, it's def a neat place.

Didn't like the instant aging thing though...makes me want to join Jack Sparrow in his hunt for the fountain of youth.

Yes and no, basically we found that you had to listen to the outside speal and once inside we sort of made a right after entering away from the group and were able to skip the whole second "show". But I don't think this is "offical".

My niece is 14 and she loves Innoventions for the free version of Dance Dance Revolution they have with Disney charectors. We have lost her for hours in that place. Otherwise enjoy the air conditioning, play with a few things, send a Disney e-card for free for those at home and leave.

I do it all the time. In fact, I've never seen a single demo. :rolleyes1

Here's what you do: When you are entering the building, hang toward the back of the crowd. Once inside, just turn around and unobtrusively walk in the opposite direction from the demo! (You won't get lost or end up somewhere you shouldn't. After all, it's a round building. ;) )

Though there's usually a CM at the back, just smile and say something like, "We've already seen this" or "We're heading for ASIMO" or whatever. Works like a charm!
