Make up - Ana or Anna?

I'm just past the 6 month mark so I thought I should start making my makeup appointment. My old hairdresser from NJ is coming to do my hair, so I just need advice for makeup. Please give me your suggestions. It can be someone other than Ana and Anna, they just seem to be the most common on the board. Any information would help - pricing, how the makeup held up.

Thanks in advance.

Bump!

And also, I used Anna...Ana...can't remember. Well, the one I used was the one from makeovermajic.com. She was great. Very friendly, did what I wanted, both hair and makeup, prices seemed reasonable. If you visit her Web site, she offers specials from time to time, so you can get a pretty good rate.

That being said, I know that other An(n?)a, from Beaute Speciale, has done a bunch of brides' weddings as well. I had a chance to meet her and she was pretty personable too. I don't have much info on her prices though.

I've heard a lot of brides talk about Mac makeup and how useful it was on their wedding day. I know one of the Annas doesn't use it (maybe from makeovermajic?) because of some sort of disagreement Mac has from freelancers or something? No clue. Maybe a search on Mac would yield more help for ya?

Good luck!

I used Anna Warcaser (sp?) from Magic Makeover, and was very happy with her. She was extremely friendly and was easy to communicate with during the planning stages. She does get busy at times, but she always got back to me fairly quickly. As for my wedding day, she showed up right on time, and was great. In case anybody is wondering about her hair-styling skills, I ended up wearing my hair down, with the sides pulled up, and she originally curled my hair VERY tight...so tight that I was worried. However, she assured me that by wedding time, it would relax(due to the awful humidity that day) and it looked perfect by then!

At the end of the long day, my hair and makeup were still perfect. I don't wear makeup, but she was very understanding about what I wanted(to look natural while at the same time not look washed out in all of the pictures due to the white dress!) and she did a wonderful job. I don't know what kind of makeup she used, so unfortunatly I can't help you with that. Personally I had no problems with it, and it held up extrememly well in the heat, humidity, and the sun. I would highly recommend her. There have been other reports that the other Ana does great work too... good luck with your choice :)

I also used Anna from Makeovermajic and I was very pleased. She showed up at my room right on time (and we had a 9:00 ceremony, so it was early!) She originally said it would probably take around 30 minutes to do hair and makeup, which I didn't believe, but she was right! I would definitely recommend her :thumbsup2

My vote would have to be for Ana from Beaute Speciale. She was absolutely wonderful! She made everyone feel very relaxed with her - like she was just another one of the girls hanging out and getting ready. My makeup lasted all day in the heat. She gives you touch up makeup to use throughout the day but I completely forgot to use it and still think my makeup looks great in our dessert party pictures.

Her makeup pricing as of January of 2007 were:

$50 Make Up
$75 for Airbrush Make-up.
$30 Eyes Only
$10 For Pair of Eye Lashes

Good luck deciding!

Does she do hair also?

Yes she does! I just didn't mention it since the OP asked about makeup but Ana did such a great job on our hair. I showed her a picture and she was able to recreate it and wouldn't stop tweaking it until she could tell I was absolutely pleased. I would definitely recommend her to anyone getting married around the Orlando area.

Again, these prices are from January 2007
