Displaying Mickey ears at home

I was wondering how y'all display your Mickey ears at home.

We have a set of bride and groom ears, and also an infant pair for DS. I would love to add them to our wall in the basement that has other framed Disney memorabilia hanging. Perhaps a wall shelf to sit them on, or just attaching them to the wall somehow. (The groom hat is a top hat though, so that might be hard.)

Does anyone have ideas or pictures to share?

Also, for those of you that keep them out on a bookshelf or something, do they get dusty?

TIA!

I would like some ideas about this too. We have bridge and groom ears that we used to keep on the top of the mirror on our dresser, but they did get very dusty. Now we both have another pair, and I would like to display all of them.

Sorry I am no help, just saying I am in the same boat. :)

We have a photo wall at home where we put all our pictures (it's starting to bleed into the stairway). I just wait until Michael's is having a frame sale (usually occurs once a month) and take them with me to the store. They carry shadow boxes that are pretty close to the size we need (only one that I actually had THEM do was for the top hat because I couldn't fold it in half - they ended up cutting off the back and putting it in there - looks really nice though). We have them scattered through out our framed, hanging pictures. The pirate pair is by our picture with Jack Sparrow (from our cruise); Our wedding pair is by our picture at Chef Mickey's (where we had our reception); and our 50th golden pair are flanking the picture of my whole family @ DL's 50th celebration. It's fun to have them out as additional reminders of what a good time we had!

Before we had done this, I just had them sitting on our dresser, but agree that they get too dusty & fade in color (if the sun hits them directly).

Hope this helps!:)

We actually have our ears on a series of "coat hooks" in our entryway! Always a conversation starter for guests who visit for the first time!

I love the idea of having them framed in shadow boxes! Great idea! (You shouldn't have told me!) :rotfl:

I would just love to see a pic of your photo wall with the hats!! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately we are pre-packing in anticipation for a move and the pics are one of those "expendable" items that could be packed first. However, I did manage to sneak 1 pic of an ear shadow box before it was packed:

These are our pirate ears from the pirates night on our honeymoon cruise. I also put in a picture of us from that night with Captian Hook & Mr Smee :)

This is the first one I did and wish I would have done it on the white background - would have popped more. But the gold look really good on the black (sorry - already wrapped in bubble wrap & packed). The shadow box was only $30 at Michael's. Where as the custom shadow box would have been $400!!! Granted they would have had a mat and fancy preservation stuff, but really, I just want to have them out and keep the dust off as best I can!
