As I was working on my budget tonight I realized we are already very close to the 10K Disney minimum. So, I am now toying with the idea of converting to a custom wedding but, I have a few questions.

1) Do you have to do a site visit?

2) Do your room block have to be in seperate hotels?

3) I know the pricing in the wishbook is wrong. My Intimate/Escape worksheets were emailed to me from my planner. If any of you would be willing to email me the Custom/Wishes worksheets I would be ever so greatful so that I can know what the real pricing will be. I know they are different than an Intimate/Escape. My email is mystii@suddenlink.net.

4) Off hand, can you tell me how much the WP is?

Thanks in Advance

I'll try to answer a few of your questions. I am a custom/wishes bride and I'm pretty sure you don't have to do a site visit. I ended up doing mine when I was down there for my planning session. I was given a 10 page overview for the wedding before my planning session, but there wasn't a worksheet that outlined any specific prices. Floral sent a separate spreadsheet with everything that we talked about at my planning session and my formal estimate for food, transportation, and site rentals won't come until closer to the wedding. At the planning session they answered a lot of our questions about pricing, but didn't give us anything. I'm getting married at Epcot, so I'm not sure the pricing for the WP. Sorry I couldn't be more help :)

Thanks so much do you know about the room block - everyone already has their reservations & we all want to stay @ the same hotel???

I do believe the room block is for any hotel that Disney owns. So it doesn't matter wether it is the same hotel or different ones. At least that is how it was presented to me. Orginally we were planning on keeping everyone at the same hotel, but some people wanted to save while others wanted to slurge so we are in different hotels.

The price for the wedding pavilion is $2,662.00 including tax etc.

You can keep your existing hotel reservations and your guests and yourself will also receive a discount.

I'll try to answer your questions as best I can --

1) Do you have to do a site visit?

No, I don't think so. We did do one, however. I know you can do all of your planning sessions over the phone so I see no reason why you would be required to do a site visit.

2) Do your room block have to be in seperate hotels?

No. You can have the room block in the same hotel. The only limit is on the maximum number of hotels, which I am not sure if it is three or four. From my understanding, I *think* it can be four. However, that includes different room types. For example, if you have a Magic Kingdom view at the Contemporary, as well as the garden wing rooms at the Contemporary, then that would count as two categories. I am not sure on this. I know you can have at least three.

3) I know the pricing in the wishbook is wrong. My Intimate/Escape worksheets were emailed to me from my planner. I have not gotten to the BEO stage yet, so I can't help you on this one. I think the pricing for the Wishes may be correct currently on wishbook. However, October is usually the magic month when they increase their prices. The prices for a Wishes wedding will be locked in at six months before your wedding date (i.e. if you sign your contract at eight months, prices will still not be locked in until six months).

You might want to look at this thread, however. It's really, really good -- some people posted their entire BEO and I have found it extremely helpful.

4) Off hand, can you tell me how much the WP is?

The previous poster is correct. The WP is $2500. After tax, that would be $2662.50.

HTH! :)

Whilst working out my figures I also realised that my escape wedding was nearing the $10,000 budget so I changed my wedding to a wishes wedding. I was worried as at the moment we only have ten people going over but because we are staying for two weeks we fill the room blocks. We also can't visit before our wedding as we can't afford to so at the moment I am doing most of our communication via email. Good Luck planning your wedding.

1) Do you have to do a site visit?

Nope, everything can be done by phone. But, one of the perks of doing a Custom is that you CAN have a Planning Session if you want, and you DO get to have a Cake Tasting and Menu Tasting (no additional charge). So most people reccommend that if you can swing it, to go and do it b/c it's a really fun experience. But if not, no sweat, everyhitng can be done by phone.

2) Do your room block have to be in seperate hotels?

Nope, you can pick 1, 2, 3, or 4 different hotels. Personally we have 4 because we have so many guests coming and wanted to give them a variety. But there are definitely people who've chosen to have only had 1 or 2 hotels. By upgrading to a Custom you and your guests will be eligible for discounted rates on your rooms and any park tickets you decide to buy.

3) I know the pricing in the wishbook is wrong. My Intimate/Escape worksheets were emailed to me from my planner. I do not have the planning pages available in an e-mailable format at this time. I think my computer ate them, as they seem to be missing. :surfweb: :confused3 :rotfl2:

4) Off hand, can you tell me how much the WP is?

I believe that the pricing in Wishbook is correct for this and it is $2500+tax, which come out to $2662.00 as another poster said.

Thanks in Advance

No prob. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much to everyone that responded. I really appreciate the info. I crunched some numbers this afternoon & we are already @ $10K so I have contacted DFTW. I will keep you posted & of course, if anyone else can think of anything I need to know feel free to post:thumbsup2
