We want to get my MIL a birthday present related to our upcoming Disney trip (3 families going together.) Our travel, hotel, and tickets are already paid. She already has her shoes picked out for the trip. We've already talked about making some t-shirts for the families. I was thinking maybe a bag for the parks or something. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I was trying to think of some gifts for our upcoming trip too - then I realized I could order from disneyshopping.com, have it sent to our resort (there was free shipping when I ordered!), and not have to pay duty. They have matching shirts you can order, or you can make your own under personalized shirts. I got some really cheap slippers and beach towels as well. They'll hold it for you at the front desk (wouldn't have it there for more than a few days before you arrive) and you can either pick it up or have it delivered to your room when you arrive.

That's good to know! We'll probably take advantage of that for some souvenirs for the kids and t-shirts. MIL's birthday is a couple of months before our trip though, so what can we get her in preparation for our trip? Another thought I had was some sort of book. She's read a few planning guides. I'm open to anything Disney related. Any ideas?

Regarding a bag -

I got a great bag from LL Bean it is called the Travel Touring bag - comes in 2sizes and lots of colors. I bought both sizes since I couldn't decide - the larger is good for a SLR camera, few extra lenses a jacket and still have room. The small will hold a smaller camera and wallets and a small umbrella or poncho both are great bags just depends on what you need. Can carry on shoulder or accross the chest.

Disney Guide books :

1.) The Passporter for Walt Disney World its great has park maps ratings of rides, restaurant, very detailed and a great planning tool! I buy a new one every year.

2.) The complete guide to Walt Disney World by Mike and Julie Neal -published by the coconut press I just got it on Ebay. TONS of photos and great write ups.

3.) On ebay you can buy a cast member exclusive ID lanyard, they make a nice gift goes around the neck you can get a favorite character they are listed regularly great to hold your room key and theme park tickets.

Look at the Creative DISigns section of this board. There are fantastic Disney designs there that most of the creators are willing to personalize for you for FREE! You print then onto transfer paper and iron them on a shirt. There are many family designs and birthday designs. I'm addicted now making t-shirts for every day of our trip for the kids and a couple for us! Watch out!

Thanks! These are some good ideas! I like the looks of that LLBean bag and very affordable too! At that price maybe we'll give her that bag and a guide book.

I'm still open to suggestions if someones got a good idea.

How about some disney dollars or gift card for her to spend while at Disney? This way she can get herself something nice and not worry about the money being spent. Does she need luggage or a carryon bag? I got luggage last Christmas and love it.
