Celebrating a 9th :cloud9: birthday @ Disney next week and so far I only have ADR to Chef Mickey’s for a late breakfast. I would love any ideas to make this a memorable one for our daughter; this will also be our first family trip to WDW. My husband and I have only been to EPCOT before so we’re all really excited. On the birthday we’ll be in MK and we’ll be staying at Port Orleans-Riverside.

Sorry, new to this website as well.:)

If you can get an ADR Cinderalla's Royal Table is a great character meal. We also always book a show at the Hoop Dee Doo Review.

Our DD will have her 9th birthday while we are at the world in just a few weeks.

Hope you have a great first trip and here is some pre trip pixiedust for you. pixiedust:

I hope you enjoy your trip!

Dinner in the castle would be a great birthday dinner.

Happy Birthday to you DD

Also, make sure to pick up a birthday button from City Hall. It helps to make the day a little more special!

Actually they also have first timer buttons, so get them for everyone!

Ask your CM at check in, I was told she could get a character wake up call. Be sure to have a list of her favorites (top one might not be an option).

I think Chef Mickey's will give her a special cup cake. For another meal you can pre order a special cake for her or simply place the order at the podium for a $12.50 6" cake when you arrive for the meal. There is a B-day cake thread(at the top of Disney Restaurants) that has info.

For something even crazier you could go Beaches and Cream at the Beach Club and order the Kitchen Sink for her birthday "cake". Its a collection of every type of ice cream and topping served there! That would be quite the family memory! I understand that they make a big deal when they serve it so the whole restaurant would probably sing Happy Birthday to her. I would have certainly remembered that birthday at 9yrs old! Mom letting me have everything in the store, priceless.

Thanks for all the suggestions; I’m sure this will be a great birthday for our DD. :thumbsup2

I surprised my daughter for her 6th birthday by flying her down for a "girls weekend" 3 years ago. Thanks to the people on the DIS, I got lots of great ideas. 1. Make sure it's on all your reservations that it is her birthday.
2. Ask for a character wake-up call.
3. Make sure she has the button! One CM noticed it, mentioned to my daughter that Goofy had been waiting for her, he picked up a phone, and Goofy was on the other end singing Happy Birthday. It was great!
4. Eat at 1900 Park Fare in the GF. I had pre-ordered a birthday cake with a white chocolate Cinderella's Castle on the top. The best part was that Prince Charming delivered it to her while singing Happy Birthday! Needless to say, my daughter was stunned! (Not to mention the cake was fantastic!)

Anyway, we are now headed back for DS's 6th birthday followed 4 days later by DD's 9th birthday. I'm trying to think of special things for DS since DD had such a special time on her 6th.

I hope my suggestions are helpful, Disney really knows how to make birthdays special. Oh, another thing.......I had read prior to DD's last birthday trip not to expect anything special for her birthday, that it all depended on the CM's. Good advice, that way you won't be disappointed, however, my DD was made to feel like a princess for our entire 3 days and she still talks about that trip 3 years later! It was worth every dime!

Well, thanks for all the suggestions. I will definitely be getting the buttons and as far as meals, we have Chef Mickey's for a late breakfast and Crystal Palace for dinner, of course I tried Cinderella's Royal Table but couldn't get one, being that our trip is next week. This was a last minute trip, we just booked everything about 2 1/2 weeks ago. So of course I'm going crazy trying to get tips and suggestions, but I think it'll be a great trip. I'm not too disappointed with CRT as she's not a big princess fan... I know, I know, she's one of those tomboyish girls that can hang with the best of them (thanks to her older brother) but still wants to be styling while doing it. I guess it makes sense that her all-time favorite is Tinkerbell and then Tigger; so... I figured she would enjoy the Crystal Palace more. Also she's not a big cake fan, actually none of us really are but I still would like some sort of cake, a small one. I saw on one of the threads a mickey brownie and also heard about some chocolate covered strawberries, she would love that.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions, they will come in handy. :grouphug:

I would also suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe. The CM's do such a great job engaging everyone dining even when there isn't an occasion, walk in there wearing a birthday button and she'll probably be the center of attention for the entire meal. It isn't character dining, but all the CM's there are characters!

It's our last day of 7 at WDW.
We are beginning the morning souvenir shopping at DTD.
Then I have made reservations for her & her 6yo sister to get princess makeovers at the Bipidi Bopidi Boutique.
As a surprise for her, 1230 reservations at CRT (going with the 12.50 cake option).
Really looking forward to it.
She also loves tink ... any hints on where to find her?

:dance3:

Older girls currently on a road trip with dad to Florida ... I am sane and flying down with DD 20 mos & my mom. This is also our first trip to Disney ... did someone say that there are special things for first-timers?

Doesn't POR have horse and carriage rides? Reasonable prices- around $30 a half hour. Wanted to do it at SSR but stopped having them there. That might be a memorable time.
