I just bought at OKW contract through resale :cool1:
Not in the disney system yet (BUT I'M SOOO EXCITED!!)

After I am in the system I would like to buy 100 more points,

next December (not over christmas- the first or second week) I am planning a Family trip and would like to get a two bedroom (hopefully Savanna view)

Will I have a hard time booking that even at 11 months because the whole resort will not be built yet???

Also is 8 in a two bedroom pushing it?? or is it okay? We will be at the parks a lot anyways but I don't want it to seem cramped

If you are going to buy AKV points and try to book a 2 bedroom next December at 11 months at AKV, you should be fine! Maybe you want to book day by day...sort of like Standard View at BWV, for December, I book Standard View at BWV day by day.

As far as feeling cramped with 8 in a two bedroom...it depends on the make up of the people...especially the sleeping arrangements. There are 7 who use the 2 bedrooms that we have booked,(At VWL and BWV) and 3 of them are young children. Once our DGC get older, now 2,3 and 4, we will give that family those conventional 2 bedrooms all to themselves...When the new 2 bedrooms at AKV come on line with the 3 bathrooms in the 2 bedrooms, we may go back to single 2 bedroom for them and us, at that time.

OKW's two bedroom are very spacious and I do not think that 8 would feel crowded in one of those either.

We are all tall people, DS's both over 6 ft. 5 in. We really like more room.

Congratulations on your new purchase, and Welcome Home!!!

We have had 7 or 8 in a two bedroom at OKW a few times (both times there were a number of children) and it was comfortable. But the smaller resorts could be a problem. We had four in a SSR one bedroom once and it was very crowded. With OKW you are guaranteed two queen beds and one king bed and only one sleeper sofa in the living room.

Even with the newer layout at AKV, I would think 8 in a two bedroom would be crowded.

If AKV is like the other resorts in early Dec, you'll need home resort advantage to get it. Your OKW points could not be used at 11 months for AKV.

We have had as many as 7 adults in an OKW 2 bedroom, and we weren't crowded at all. I do think the extra room at OKW is an important factor in that though. The bigger living room and kitchen make a HUGE difference.

We have stayed several times in the "smaller" resorts with 8 (3 adults, 4 older children) in a 2 bedroom, never a problem for the 2 families.. Stay where you will enjoy the most.:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Our OKW contract is only for 26 points (not enough for a two bedroom)
I didn't want the 160 point contract direct through disney so decided to go resale for our first contract and add multiple smaller contracts direct through disney...

So whereever I buy my next 100 points will be where we stay next december. I am leaning towards AKL over SSR..... (although I have changed my mind 27 times *lol*)
I'm 25 so the extra years sound good to me

Thanks for the advice on the room sizes, we are going this sept so I think I will tour them and see if our family will fit ok
;)

When you say "next December" do you mean Dec 07 or Dec 08? If you mean Dec 07, you'll need to purchase those points pretty quick and even then you are probably out of luck. If you are thinking Dec 08, you'll need to have those points by Dec 07 so you can make that reservation in Jan 08.

I mean December 08,

I was wondering about getting a two bedroom because I saw that the other building wont be open untill early 2009

BUt there are 2 bedroom units in Jambo too. As long as you call right at the 11 month window, you should be okay. I guess I would maybe consider calling day by day though until the booking is complete. Especially if you are trying to book value or standard.

Want a Savanna so I guess we will be okay.. I think for our First trip to AKL Savanna is a must!!

Thanks for all the advice!!
