I have trouble sorting through all the reviews and opinions on restaurants at WDW. I thought everyone could vote for individual restaurants, and post reasons why they did or didn't like it. We'll see how this works.:thumbsup2

Date: February 2007
Meal: Good - Coconut Fried Shrimp, Grilled NY Strip Steak, Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower, Diet Coke
Service: Excellent - The waiter was the extremely nice and did a wonderful job.
Outcome: Good - The steak was a bit overdone, and I was expecting more form the Brown Derby. I would like to go again, but this time I'll order something they are more famous for like Cobb Salad.:confused3

We eat here on every trip to WDW and I always have the Cobb salad. If we are there for dinner I will have the Grouper, which is excellent. We have also done Dining with an Imagineer twice and really enjoyed it.

This was THE best dinner we had during our trip in May. I would recommend it to anyone!

I didn't vote, but DH went there last night and said it was EXCELLENT! I can't wait until we go in Aug!

Excellent. We have never had a bad meal there and service has always been outstanding. I have some favorites-cobb salad, filet, grapefruit cake.

Cobb salad and a couple of glasses of wine is one of my favorite lunches at WDW. DH does it with beer.

We ate there this past January and we really enjoyed this meal...The server was very friendly...We would not hesitate to recommend or return to this restaurant..

Another one of our favorites. We always eat at Brown Derby on the day we visit MGM. It has a great atmosphere as well as wonderful food. I usually get steak and then share a grapefruit cake with my DH for dessert.

I voted only "average." However, I think my response is somewhat colored by the fact that we had dined at CG, Kona, and Boma before visiting BD on our last trip. The other meals were far superior (and a better value IMHO).

The only reason we go to MGM is to eat at Brown Derby <ducks and runs for cover> . We love the food and the setting. Two thumbs up from us!

I've eaten at Brown Derby three times, and have tried the following items.

Appetizers - Potato-crusted Crab Cake, Sake-laced Crab Cake, and Seared Scallop on BBQ Pork Belly. The sake-laced crab cake and scallop were excellant, the potato-crusted cake was very good too though, just not as good as the sake-laced one.

Entree - Pistachio & Mint-crusted Lamb, Sesame-seared Tuna, and Filet Mignon, all of these were excellant.

Desserts - Happiest Celebration on Eath, (which was some type of chocolate and orange mousse,) Tiramisu-Creme Brulee, and Banana Toffee Dome. I was dissapointed with the creme brulee, but the other two were excellant.

Overall the food there is some of the best on property, and the service is good too.

We have never had a bad meal at the Brown Derby...Everything is exceptional..especially the grapefruit cake..but the 2 credits on the DDP prevents us from doing it this year. :sad2:

I have eaten their steak before, but it is nothing compared to what I can get at Le Cellier. It doesn't seem to compare for me. Maybe I should try again and get something different. I am not a Cobb Salad fan, even though I know they are famous for that.

One of my favorite restaurants. I loved it there!!! Can't wait to go back!

We always eat at the Brown Derby and have always had good meals there with even better service. It is one of those restaurants that is consistently good, not occasionally good and I think you will not be disappointed eating there.

We went there as a last minute thing without researching it. We were extremely happy with it. The food was excellent, desserts great, and the service was the best. The waitress filled us in on the history of the place and brought a certificate to the table saying we celebrated our anniversary there and also a phone and had Goofy dialed up to say Happy Bday to DH and then Mickey and Minnie to say Happy Anniv to me. DS had the cobb salad, I had the pasta, and I think DH had fish. Excellent!
