Garden Grill Reviews

My husband and I went there last February for lunch for the first time. We really enjoyed it. We thought the atmosphere was pretty neat (lazy susan theme...), the characters were fun (if you're into that!), and the food was fresh and flavorful. The portions were huge and the waitress returned with another full plate before we were even finished with the first one. I remember eating fried catfish (first time, we loved it), flank steak, turkey with a fresh cranberry sauce, some crisp veggies, and a great cheddar potato gratin (even requested the recipe for that one and Disney emailed it to me). I would definitely recommend it. It's not our fav in Epcot, but definitely a nice choice. I'm trying to find my review that I did over a year ago because it had pics. If I can find it I'll link it.

Oh very cool! Thanks for posting.

The pics did show up.

Now I have another question...Is Garden Grill still served family style?
Can someone share the link of that site where you can look at the menu's?

Thanks much!:cutie: :cutie: :wizard:

So glad the pics showed up for you! You can see all menus at Allearsnet.com. And yes, it's served family style. That plate in the picture was brought out for the two of us.

With out a doubt in our top 2 places to eat (Table Services) when we go to Walt Disney World. The character interaction is great, the food is pretty good and the room spins. OK so it's only slightly moving, but it does make a full rotation while you are eating. Add in it's in the Land and you have us hooked. Our favorite area in all of Epcot and Epcot is our favorite place to go. :thumbsup2

Sorry, one more ;)

On the menu posted on allears.net I see the fmaily style and then there is also a kids menu listed.

Can the kids choose from the kids menu and the adults have the family style platter?

I just read the All Ears reviews of the Garden Grill and was disappointed to find many bad *recent* reviews re food and service. Now I'm not sure I should add this place to our list of restaurants to try over Xmas.

Yes we had both a adult platter brought ut and a kids platter, the kids paltter had chicken fingers and macncheese, maybe something else.

Character interacton is awesome and for dessert the kids get to decorate their own cupcakes. Here are 2 pics from our lunch there.

Thank you! I love the cupcake idea, how neat!

Yes the kids (Under 9 I think it is) get their own food and the adults get their platter. Which I find very good, but I always ask to not get the sauce on the Turkey. Not a fan. Last time I was pretty angry because we paid out of pocket and they didn't have the Caesar Salad. The salad that made me love Caesar salad so it kind of ruined the experience for me. The salads change with the seasons I was told and the desserts varied all three time we were there last year (Except for the kids cupcakes of course.)

We did have a waiter that wasn't easy to get ahold of the last time as well, but hey they are the one's losing tip money. We are there to relax.

We really enjoyed the Garden Grill when we ate there. Our DD was 3 at the time, and she enjoyed it very much. It is one of her favorite places to eat. The characters came around often and spent plenty of time with our DD. They didn't rush off to the next table. The food was fine, too.

I came so close to cancelling as well due to reading bad reviews. But DH and I talked and we thought well if it is that bad we can just nibble and eat later we were there to see the characters. Well we were totally surprised about how much we liked the food. I tried catfish for the first time, it was good. I got some green beans in DS9 since I was struggling finding veggies he would eat. And the kids had a blast. Our server was great so I think that depends too!

I read good reviews about Chef Mickey's breakfast and I thought it was soso but fun.

We really liked it!! Adults can get the cupcakes for their dessert too if they want!;) (we did! )
