Made an ADR last minute since we are staying that night in DTD. We have never been here. any thoughts? is the food good? Two adults, two DD (9 and 6). Should I leave it or change it?

I'll reply that I LOVED it! I thought it was just so delicious and a nice break from the crazy park crowds. We went for lunch and had the burgers and they were delicious. The kids were loving it too. Keep it! It is one of our must do's now.

We ate there last week after reading a lot of good reviews here. I've got to say we were disappointed. Both DH and I thought our meals were bland, pretty unexciting. I had the Posh Chicken and DH had a special - sea bass. Also your entree doesn't really come with anything with it, no sides, just the main dish. We thought that was strange. The chicken was sitting on a small amount of julienned veggies, that's all.

DD tried some sausages on the kids menu and didn't like it. DD wouldn't eat his burger, didn't like the cheese on it - so we won't do Raglan Road again. We were too early for the dancer and music, maybe that would have made it better. :confused3

The only thing we really liked was the bread and oil they served.

Raglan Road is excellent. We consider it a 'must do' for our trips now.

We ate dinner at Raglan Road 3 weeks ago. It was one of our favorite meals of the trip. DH had fish & chips and said they were much better than Rose & Crown. My Shepherd's Pie was very large and delicious. DD13 ordered a burger and fries off the kids menu. We asked for no cheese. DD9 and DS5 both had the mac & cheese. They said it was the best mac & cheese ever. (It's REALLY good). I believe it's even offered as a side on the adult menu. We had Bread & Butter Pudding for dessert. It was big enough for all of us to share. They serve Irish Soda Bread with an Olive Oil & Guiness Extract dipping sauce to every table. The night we went, there was a balloon man who went to each table and made animals and hats for the kids. It was a great time. Oh, and the beer is good, too.

Was there for lunch a few weeks ago and had a burger (no bun). I thought it was a darn good burger and the chips (fries) were good. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if I was looking for a meal in DTD I'd go.

I did have low expectations - The British Isles aren't generally known for great food.

Great curry. But it isn't exactly English food. And Irish food is what the English left behind.

“To eat well in England, you should have a breakfast three times a day.” Somerset Maugham

(I should mention that I know the Republic of Ireland isn't Britain at all and that the Irish resent being lumped in with the British. I do not mean to insult anyone's political seperatist leanings or make light of Irish independence. The Irish have a long and worthy heritage of their own - but their food is just as bad - and that I'll make fun of.)

I would go back in a heart beat... the food was very good and the service was also pretty good. Drunk chicken app was amazing and my mom's Paddy's Pork was to die for!

I would recommend it.

Great food, Great Music, and Great Service. We really love Raglan Road, have been multiple times, and enjoyed it each times. The food is excellent, and really is not what we expected. The service is very fun, and the beer flows very freely... :cool1: I would certainly go here again....

One of my favorite comments in UG was a reviewer's sarcastic observation that the Irish eat great food like that every day (I think it was regarding some fancy shrimp dish, :lmao: )

We really enjoy Raglan Road. Have been many times with famil (our kids and grandkids) and we have taken friends. We have also visited with people sitting at tables beside us when the restaurant is very busy..everyone has loved it.

I would keep your reservation and judge for yourself. Remember..take all reviews with a grain of salt and then test the places for yourself!

With two young kids, I'd advise an early seating as it apparently gets very, very loud there when the entertainment is underway.

We ate there on our last trip (7/06) & I loved it. The food was OK, nothing too spectacular, but the atmosphere was TERRIFIC. Loved the entertainment, the beautiful wood decor (the bar is stunning), & the service was fast. Plus, I was with my VERY VERY picky DM, who, as per her routine, sent back her Irish Stew. The manager came over (WITHOUT being asked to), apologized profusely, & mom got a free dinner. They really went out of their way to please her & considering she can be the patron from hell, I made sure I left a huge tip. The rest of our party loved it & plan on going back in December if we can fit it in, if only for a drink. The deep fried bangers (sausages) with mustard sauce were divine. The bagers & mash were good, nothing too exceptional, but how spectacular can bangers & mash(mashed potatoes) be? I'd HIGHLY recommend it. You'll have a blast if Irish pubs are your thing (and really, what isn't there not to like at an Irish Pub?)

Awesome deserts, and a fun place. My boys were 12, 9 and 6 last trip, and they all enjoyed it. We went earlier in the evening to avoid the drinking crowd.

We ate and thought it was terrific and I was trying to remember what we had..

I know I had fish and chips which were quite good, one daughter had It's Not Bleedin' Chowder, which she loved. Of course, my husband cannot remember what he had and I cannot for the life of me remember what my other daughter had. I do remember that we loved it and would go back in a heartbeat.

For dessert, we had the Banoffi Beauty, which I make at home....and it was very good, not as good as mine, but very good. ;)
