For those who have checked in with the DDP

I posted this on the DDP boards, but I realized this was more of a DVC/DDP question:

Where you charged for the DDP upon arrival, or were you charged when you checked out?

Last year, I was charged for the DDP when I arrived at each hotel, but my friend said when she checked in they didn't charge her until after she checked out

New Policy? Anyone know?

Not as far as I know. When we were in SSR in Feb. we paid for DDP when we checked in.

When were you there last?

Must have been an error at check in because they were not charged until the last day of their stay. This happened about a week ago.

I checked in on 5-22....they charged it right away..

In Oct, we asked if we could just put the DDP on our room charge, rather than a separate charge. We were told no, that it had to be paid for entirely before using it. So, charged the DDP on our credit cards upon checkin, and then left cc for room charges.

Charged on arrival last month @ both BWV and SSR. It does show up again on the little check-out papers - so maybe that's what confused your friend?

You have to pay at check in but it does show up on the room charge if you read further it will tell you what was cahrged to card at the bottom on the last day and that is only what you spent aftre the DDP. Even if you use different credit cards for DDP and your room charge it will still be on the final bill...
It works on the same concept as people putting money towards thier bill up front you will see a credit but all things charged will still show up

We just got back from the Wilderness Lodge Villas (6/12-6/18) and paid for the DDP upon check-in.

Yep, Anthony that is the way mine was. You see the credit of putting your money up front for the meal plan. Theirs was not like that at all. They were never charged until the end of their stay. She said she checked her debit card every day to see if it had been debited, and it wasn't. Just think the person at check-in forgot to charge them in the beginning.

They only had a one dollar authorization charge.

In January at OKW, I was charged the day we checked in.

Myself and my hubby are here now at SSR. This is day 6 of our trip. When we checked in, I was automatically charged for the DP. The rest of my bill still shows as it needs to be paid, however the DP was already charged on day 1 of our stay.

I will write a report upon returning home here in a day or so. The DDP has turned out to be quite interesting.
