Hello All!
Just trying to figure out when the US holidays land in February...
Which week is President's Week?
Are southern school's off for Mardi Gras? Anyone have a calendar with the dates for that yet?
TIA!!:wizard:

I can only attest to South Carolina schools. They do get President's Day off, which is on Feb 18th, but the next long holiday isn't until the end of March.

Mardi Gras isn't a state or federal holiday so they wouldn't get that off, not sure about the Louisiana folks though.

Also google for the Home Builders conference. It's huge, fills up dozens of the hotels in Orlando, including some at WDW that are official "conference" hotels. They won't be in the parks, but they will affect available resort space.

Thanks - it runs Feb 13 - 16 - so right through the week we are there!

We like to go in February. In 2006 we went the 2nd week and crowds were very minimal. Last year, we went the week before President's Day. The whole week was quiet, but started to fill up on Friday for the holiday weekend. We're going down the same week in 2008. I love going in February, but don't expect to swim. It actually got down to 40 degrees one night and we had to wear gloves and jackets!

Thanks all soo much! Looks like we'll go down the week before Pres. Day. Hopefully the parks won't fill up before the end of the week!

Don't worry - they don't go to the parks. They won't even use the transportation. Busses from the show will pick attendees up at the "official" hotels to shuttle them top the Orlando Convention Center. They will be too tired at night to go to the parks. Trust me on that one - been there, done that. Just be sure to make hotel reservations early as things will definitely fill up. Also make meal reservation (particularly dinner) early - either onsite or offsite. Attendees will eat lunch at the show, but places to eat a meal in the evening will fill up all over town.
