I arrived at MCO airport almost 30 minutes ahead of my scheduled arrival time. So I arrived about 10:20am. I wandered down to the DME desk and got on a bus for CSR. The bus was going to Pop Century and then CSR... there were exactly 13 people on board.

We waited about 2 minutes and we were off and on the road by around 10:50am.

The bus driver informed us that we weren't going to get the Disney Video because he wasn't supplied a copy for that day. :(

He was helpful and informative.. but since I was one of the few people on the bus that spoke English at all close to fluently.. most of his stuff kinda fell on deaf ears.

I was at the resort by around 11:40am.

Check-in line was very light. They checked me and my room location was pretty much exactly as I had requested much to my delight! They said my luggage would be placed in my room by around 3pm.

Before I wandered over to my room, I checked the convenience store and the only mugs I saw were the CSR specific ones. If they had the YOAMD mugs, I did not see them. [Incidentally: I didn't buy a mug. I went over to Hess that afternoon and bought 2x12 packs of Coke and put it in the fridge back in the room -- perfect.]

I went back to my room, Cabana's 8A - Room 8157. It's a corner room on the ground floor quite close to the Dig Site pool & hot tub.

At first I wasn't too fond of the room. It just seemed a little 'worn'. It wasn't something I would complain about to be switched from tho. Also, the TV was SMALLER than at the values? I thought that was odd.

My luggage showed up earlier than promised around 2:30 or so in the afternoon.

After a couple of days in the room of course it had grown on me and I liked it. So I suspect it was more 'me' than it was the room. :)

Any questions -- feel free.

First off, welcome back! Now I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind.

What is your overall or total impression of the resort?

Would you stay there again or try a different Mod?

Did you get a chance to check out the pool and was it as cool looking as the pictures make it out to be?

Did you take the bus service to the parks and if so, how was the wait?

I'm thinking of booking a stay there or at POR for a quickie trip next spring and wondered if you can compare the two?

Welcome back again and thanks for posting.

Welcome back! I just returned also. We loved it!! Everything was great and we certainly will return in the future!! :thumbsup2

Welcome back!

We haven't tried CSR yet, but we are planning on trying them all, so someday we'll get there! I wanted to know: Would you return to this resort? I always ask my friends who travel to WDW that question. I figure if they say yes they would return, then all the little minor inconveniences/problems don't add up to much.

Did you try the Pepper Market? I had a neighbor say they didn't like the setup, but the food was good.

Loved it. It was beautiful. I walked all over the resort and didn't find it nearly as spread out as I thought or felt it would be. It's really beautiful and relaxing.

Truthfully, I've stayed Value and Deluxe before so this was my first mod. I'd like to try the others but would not hesitate to stay there again.

I can't swim.. but I did walk around the pool area. It is impressive. I did enjoy the hot tub area a few times.

The wait was minimal. We usually picked up the bus either at Stop 4 or Stop 1. The bus rides from CSR were good. We did pick up a bus at the Contemporary one night to go to Pleasure Island and that bus ride seemed to take forever. CSR was nothing like that.

I can't. But I can honestly say that the POR buses were MUCH busier during our stay than the CSR buses. We might have had a nearly full bus for example, but POR was standing room only on the same trip.

Yes.. I would definitely stay there again. It was a real treat in the end. I think some of my initial negatives may have just been that I was so tired and cranky after a lot of flying and such.

Pepper Market - I did not eat there, altho I kept meaning to. I completely understand how it works. We have a restaurant in Canada called "Le Marche Movenpick" which works exactly the same. You have a card, you get your choices from various 'vendors' and then you pay in one central location at the end of the meal.

I can understand how some find it confusing but once you understand it -- as I have understood "Le Marche" for years.. it's not difficult at all. Just different. :)

How were the crowds? My boss is there right now, so I am hoping that it is not too crowded for her. Are the tv's really smaller than the values?

Crowds were reasonable. The busiest attractions were still very busy.. but we did very well with good planning and artful use of FP's.

:)

Buzz.. my stay there was entirely your fault.. I mean.. because of you. ;) Thanks again for the encouragement to try it.

We stayed at POR 2 years ago. My daughter wants to go to CSR. It is all she talks about. We are going to ASMU this year. Thanks for all the info...maybe next year!!!

I meant to mention that the love bugs were pretty crazy the first few days.. but seemed less 'worse' after the rain over the weekend.

Maybe that was just my imagination tho..

The first day I got there, I tried to eat Poolside at the DigSite and had to take the food back to my room because the bugs were just too distracting.

Didn't you just get back from POP not too long ago? Twice in one year...I'm jealous. :)

Glad you had a great time. Coronado is one of the only resorts we haven't checked out (for whatever reason). We'll have to drive over there to take a peek next visit.

Thanks for the review!! We leave 3 months from today!! Woo hoo!! Your review made me just that much more excited to go!!
