I keep thinking I have am going to have more points them I am get. I know that for every $100 you get one $1. Please tell me how many point will I have with $5700.

Anyone know how long it takes to redeem your disney points? And what exactly can you use them on? We're planning a trip in Sept and so far I have about $40...but I still need to finish paying off my trip with the Visa..so it'll jump even more. I'm just wondering how long before the trip do I need to make sure I have the purchases I want to make with the card made and the points cashed out.

It can take them a while to mail you your card so the first time you redeem your points so if you think you are going to cut it too close guest relations in downtown disney has the rewards cards there you can pick up and then call to transfer your points.

If you already have a rewards card and it hasn't expired, then you can use the cardmember website or your phone (see back of card for number) to transfer the points to the card. The point transfer is almost immediate.

Was it a rewards card or a $25 gift card? The $25 gift card (or $50 depending on the promo you signed up with) is automatically sent after your first purchase. That is different than the Disney Dream Rewards Card. You typically have to request that card, and you have to have a minimum of 20 points to transfer to it in order to get the card.

Ohhhh...I just looked and it's a $50 GIFT card I guess I better get working on requesting my FIRST rewards card....If the points are almost instantly transfered I can always just get my card with the points I have now then transfer additional points that I earn from now until then shortly before we go.

Notice that you only get the points when your statement closes. So, I made sure I paid off our trip before the end of the month we were going. That way I got a nice extra boost in rewards dollars. We were there when our next statement ended so I called and had the latest month's rewards dollars shifted over as well. It will be a few years before we go again so I wanted every dollar possible to go toward this trip.

I ordered my rewards card a couple of days ago. She said that it would come around May 30th, but if I wanted it sooner than that I had the option of paying $10 for express shipping. Our trip isn't until August, so I'm in no hurry to get the card.

You cannot even requst a card until you have at least $10 worth of points accrued. That means you have to charge $1000 first.

Not that you asked, but IMHO the Disney Visa sucks and I just closed my account after they raised my interest rate to 24.9% for NO REASON!!! Watchout... they will do that and all they will do is send you a little flyer notifying you of it. They did it to my friend, too. And talk about HORRIBLE customer service! There are so many other MUCH better deals out there. I will miss booking free dining first but I'll live. My point, be careful of those interest rates!

Watchout... they will do that and all they will do is send you a little flyer notifying you of it. They did it to my friend, too. And talk about HORRIBLE customer service! There are so many other MUCH better deals out there. I will miss booking free dining first but I'll live. My point, be careful of those interest rates!

They are not supposed to be able to do this unless you are out of your promoting period. Or if you default in the promo period. DH and I have great beacon/credit scores in the 700's with no missed payments, ect. Your right though it will come on a small flyer that shows terms have been changed it may or may not come in the statement envelope. I would never close the account with a balance on the card. This will affect your score. I have just switched it to a better account, then left it opened. This way my overall credit usage and credit line looks to be better. You will start to get better offers from the cards you ignore (the ones that jumps your rate up).. at least we have.

But if you don't carry a balance, you don't have to worry about the interest rate, and the rewards are really nice to have.

They can change it for any reason at anytime - you can bet it's in the fine print. I don't carry a balance, but Chase typically has higher interest anyway. At least mine does. Most rewards cards have higher interest rates than non-rewards so they can pay for all those rewards.

Chase recently lowered our interest rate to just under 12% - I just called and asked, told them I was thinking of closing the account. Credit card companies hate that - they'll usually lower the rate if you ask, rather than lose your business.

They also threw in 10 rewards dollars as an extra incentive

Yep, this is true!!! However, my AMEX Blue has a low interest and we get rewards as well, I think it has to do something with their fees to charge merchants.

Most of my other low fee cards have no rewards attached to them!
