Just curious to know the price of a gallon of milk in various areas.

We live just south of Dallas. Last week a gallon of milk was $2.35 at Costco, today its $2.45! Costco is way cheaper than area grocery stores, typically they run about $3.89 gal. Funny, the fat free milk is usually more than the whole milk. You pay more to get less?:confused3

I am in Williamsburg, VA and for Great Value 2% in Walmart it is $3.69 a gal. I think it is quite the rip off, because they know we need it and will buy it!! Just like gas!!!

It's been steady at $2.18/gallon here in Chicago, at Jewel. I didn't realize milk was so expensive in other areas. Although I'd trade higher milk prices for lower gas, we're #1 in the nation for that!

Funny how gas and milk cost about the same per gallon?

so we have to cut back somewhere. My husband insists that bottled water tastes better, but we ran out last week and I just filled up a jug with tap water. It wasn't to fool him, I just wanted to put water in the fridge to keep it cold, but he thought it was the bottled water:rotfl2: So that's what we do from now on!

At my local Publix the store-brand milk is $3.39/gallon. I buy mine at Costco...I pay about $2.39/gallon (for skim).

It is over $3 a gallon here. We drink mostly soy milk and that is much more expensive, as it is only sold in 1/2 gallons. Oh well....

Supertarget in Frissco, Tx was $3.69 a gallon today!

I only bought a 1/2 gallon b/c we leave for the world in 4 days! Whoopppeee!!!!!

So funny to read this! I just about choked today when I went to my local Kroger's and paid $3.75 for a gallon!!!

(I'm near Detroit, in Michigan)

We usually pay between $1.99 - $2.10. Who knew Oregon was finally on the cheap side of the list!!

I paid $2.39 yesterday for 2% at the supermarket. It's been $1.87 for about 2 years and just went up last week. We're in the Phoenix area.

CVS and Walgreens seem to rotate weeks at $2.49 a gallon (in Texas near Austin). I get what I need through the week and then stock up on Saturday night in case neither one has a sale the next week.....

Wow, those are low prices! At Food Lion last weekened (the cheapest grocery store in my area) it was $4.05!! The corner grocery store is around $3 but they don't sell the skim milk, only 2%
